Engineered quartz from India

Caesarstone® Quarz 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON

Caesarstone® 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON is a particularly pale grade from the Concrete series of the Israeli engineered quartz manufacturer Caesarstone. The honed C400 slab shows a very pale, slightly warm-toned creamy white ground tone with only a subtle, even mineral speckling – stylistically an allusion to a freshly struck, smoothed pale fair-faced concrete or a fine white lime render. The ICON marking indicates inclusion in Caesarstone's premium Iconic line. At ROSSITTIS we fabricate the large-format slabs into pale kitchen worktops, vanity units, wall claddings, interior stairs, window sills and made-to-measure interior components with a delicate, concrete-inspired character.

Engineered quartz material from the Caesarstone Concrete series and Premium Iconic line (Caesarstone Ltd., Israel), based on high-purity natural quartz aggregates (≈ 90–93 % quartz, ≈ 7–10 % polyester resin) – not a naturally formed stone and not a genuine concrete. Variant 4001 “Fresh Concrete ICON” as the light selection of the Concrete series, with a slightly warm-toned creamy white base tone and a fine, even mineral speckling in a delicately creamy fair-faced concrete character.

About Caesarstone® Quarz 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON

Background. Caesarstone was founded in 1987 in Kibbutz Sdot Yam in Israel and is regarded as one of the pioneers of industrial engineered quartz slab production. The company produces its slabs by the Bretonstone® vacuum vibro-compaction process and has been among the globally leading brands in this material segment for decades. The version presented here, 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON, comes from the brand's Concrete series (4xxx coding) and, with the ICON marking, has been taken into the premium selection of the Iconic Collection. Within it, Fresh Concrete occupies a particularly pale position – the design counterpart to darker fair-faced concrete grades such as 4120 Raven or 712B Wet Concrete.

Finishes

Caesarstone® Quarz 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

A glossy surface with the highest possible degree of colour intensity — the standard finish in the engineered stone and engineered quartz segment. Easy to care for in everyday use and resistant to common household acids. A prestigious choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and exposed surfaces with a classic high-gloss character.

Care & fabrication

Cleaning. Day to day, warm water, a soft cloth or a clean mop and a neutral to mildly alkaline pH cleaner are enough. Soapy engineered-stone cleaners, mild all-purpose cleaners, mild washing-up foam and special engineered quartz care products are suitable. Caesarstone recommends its own care products (Caesarstone Cleaner) – these are not essential, but well matched. Wipe up spilled liquids – wine, coffee, juices, oil – promptly in everyday use.

Do not use. Concentrated acids (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric acid), cement and rust removers, paint strippers, oven cleaners, acetone, petrol, thinners, nitro cleaners and very strongly alkaline industrial cleaners are off limits – they can attack the polyester resin. Also avoid chlorine-based bleaches in high concentration. Do without abrasive pads (steel wool, green scouring pads); scratching is particularly undesirable on the honed C400 surface.

Impregnation. A classic natural stone impregnation is not required – engineered quartz is dense and free of pores in itself, water absorption is below 0.05 %.

C400 surface. The finely honed C400 texture reacts somewhat more sensitively to films of grease and visible wipe streaks than a polished version; isolated water droplets dry off less smoothly. We recommend prompt drying off with a soft microfibre cloth and, from time to time, a special engineered-stone cleaner for matt engineered quartz surfaces.

Kitchen. 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON is a classic kitchen material. Despite its high material hardness and acid resistance the rule is: use chopping boards (knife marks can gradually leave the polyester resin dull), use trivets for hot pots and pans – direct point heat can cause local discolouration. On direct contact with a hot baking tray (above roughly 150 °C) there is a risk of stress cracks. On the pale creamy white slab, dark stains (red wine, coffee, berry juice) are clearly visible, but if dealt with promptly they can usually be removed without a trace.

Bathroom. In the bathroom, Fresh Concrete can be used very well as a vanity top, wall cladding, bath surround and shower. Do not use anti-limescale sprays and limescale-dissolving sanitary cleaners in high concentration; in the shower area wipe standing water away promptly so that no limescale film builds up.

Outdoors and frost. Not suitable for exterior construction. The polyester binder yellows under UV radiation, and freeze-thaw cycles can cause micro defects. Nor is it to be recommended permanently in fully sunlit conservatories or open loggias – Caesarstone explicitly excludes exterior use and fully sunlit interior surfaces from the warranty.

Guarantee and repair. In residential use Caesarstone grants a lifetime warranty on material and fabrication defects (“Caesarstone Forever”), on condition of fabrication and care to standard by certified specialist firms.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of material is Caesarstone® 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON?

It is an engineered quartz surface from the Concrete series and the premium Iconic line of the Israeli manufacturer Caesarstone. High-purity natural quartz aggregates (around 90–93 % by volume) are compacted with about 7–10 % polyester resin, pigments and additives into large-format slabs using the Bretonstone® vacuum process. In design terms the 4001 version is laid out for a delicate, creamy pale fair-faced concrete character.

What does the ICON marking mean?

The ICON marking identifies a Caesarstone grade as part of the premium Iconic line – a curated selection of grades that are particularly well considered in design terms and strong in the market. The ICON slabs are technically identical with the standard grades, but belong to the more prominently promoted premium selection.

How is the appearance of Fresh Concrete to be understood?

A very pale, slightly warm-toned cream white to delicate ivory with a fine, even mineral speckling and very subtle lighter glaze hints. Stylistically the slab recalls a freshly struck, cleanly smoothed pale fair-faced concrete or a fine white lime render – calm and welcoming.

Where does Fresh Concrete sit compared with the other Concrete grades?

Fresh Concrete (4001) is one of the palest grades in the series – paler than 4011 Cloudburst (somewhat more cloud character) and 4044 Airy Concrete (somewhat purer grey). Anyone who prefers a powerful fair-faced concrete character with wipe marks is better served by 4033 Rugged Concrete or 712B Wet Concrete.

Which slab formats and thicknesses does Caesarstone offer?

Standard format 306 × 144 cm and jumbo format 327 × 162 cm, in 2 and 3 cm thicknesses. Individual lines are also available in thinner gauges (1.2 cm and 0.6 cm “Slim”) for lightweight wall claddings and furniture fronts.

What does the Caesarstone Mineral line mean and does it affect 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON?

In spring 2024 Caesarstone introduced a new material generation with the “Mineral” line, in which a large part of the crystalline quartz was replaced by other mineral aggregates – in response to the international discussion of silicosis risk during fabrication. The grade documented here, 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON, belongs to the classic quartz mix; a Mineral version can be checked on request, subject to availability.

Which cleaners may I use?

Permitted are warm water, neutral to mildly alkaline stone care products, mild all-purpose cleaners and special Caesarstone care products. Off limits are concentrated acids, cement and rust removers, paint strippers, oven cleaners and strong solvents such as acetone, petrol or thinners. Abrasive pads should be avoided.

What guarantee does Caesarstone offer?

In residential use Caesarstone grants a lifetime warranty (“Caesarstone Forever”) on material and fabrication defects, on condition of fabrication and care to standard. The warranty is handled through authorised specialist firms; ROSSITTIS supports with the documentation. Exterior surfaces and fully sunlit interior areas are expressly excluded.

What does Caesarstone® Quarz 4001 Fresh Concrete ICON cost?

The price depends on the format, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
