An impregnation is not required — the material is practically free of pores and takes up virtually no liquids. Routine cleaning is done with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner or a solution of warm water with a little washing-up liquid, applied with a soft microfibre cloth or sponge. Strongly colouring substances such as red wine, coffee, oil or tomato sauce should not penetrate, but should nevertheless be taken up promptly so as not to load the polymer layers at the surface unnecessarily. Avoid aggressive solvents (acetone, thinners, stubborn paint strippers), strongly alkaline deep cleaners and abrasive steel wool — they can matt or damage the polymer binder. Important: engineered quartz is sensitive to temperature.
