About Caesarstone® Quarz 5121 Layalite

Caesarstone Quarz 5121 Layalite is one of the most restrained designs in the Caesarstone Supernatural collection — a line that deliberately translates a natural marble look into engineered quartz. Characteristic is a warm cream-white ground colour with a very fine, discreet grey-beige mineral speckling and barely visible soft lines of movement — the slab appearance is almost uniform, with only subtle tonal variations that give the surface a warm natural appearance without drawing attention to itself. Unlike the more dramatic Empira designs from the same collection, the effect of Layalite is deliberately restrained and very flexible in planning terms. At ROSSITTIS we stock Caesarstone 5121 Layalite for kitchen worktops, cooking islands, bar counters, washstand tops, bathroom wall claddings, splashbacks, exposed faces in modern interior concepts and project-specific bespoke work where a minimalist warm material effect is wanted.

Finishes

Caesarstone® Quarz 5121 Layalite is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Honed C400

A level, matt surface created by fine honing with C400 grit — it appears more restrained than the more colour-intense polished version and is somewhat more maintenance-intensive. A characterful matt alternative for modern kitchen islands and wall claddings where high gloss would be out of place.

Care & fabrication

As an engineered quartz material, Caesarstone 5121 Layalite is considerably easier to care for than light natural marble. An impregnation is not required — the material is virtually pore-free and absorbs practically no liquids. Ongoing cleaning is carried out with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner or a solution of warm water with a little washing-up liquid, applied with a soft microfibre cloth or sponge. Strongly colouring substances such as red wine, coffee, oil or tomato sauce should not soak in, but should nevertheless be taken up promptly — on a light material, residues on the surface would stand out more visually. Avoid aggressive solvents (acetone, thinners, stubborn paint strippers), strongly alkaline intensive cleaners and abrasive steel wool — they can dull or damage the polymer binder. Important: engineered quartz is sensitive to temperature. Do not set hot pots or pans straight from the oven or the hob down on the slab without a trivet — localised heat above around 150 °C can cause visible discolouration or cracks. Caesarstone 5121 Layalite is designed exclusively for interior use; avoid direct UV sunlight over long periods, since it can cause the polymer components to yellow — which would be particularly quick to show on a light material.

Frequently asked questions

What is Caesarstone 5121 Layalite?

Layalite is an engineered quartz material from the Caesarstone Supernatural collection (product code 5121). Caesarstone is one of the world's leading manufacturers of engineered quartz worktops. Layalite is distinguished by a warm cream-white ground colour with a very fine, discreet grey-beige mineral speckling in a delicate marble appearance.

Layalite or Empira White — which suits better?

Both belong to the Caesarstone Supernatural collection and offer warm cream-white ground colours. Empira White shows pronounced grey-brown marble veins in a Calacatta appearance — more dramatic and more expressive. Layalite, by contrast, is more restrained, almost uniform with only a discreet mineral texture — more flexible in planning terms and calmer. For statement exposed faces Empira White is the choice, for calm background surfaces Layalite is better.

Layalite or light natural marble — what is the difference?

Natural marble such as Bianco Carrara or Bianco Statuario has random geological veining with a genuine marble patina, but is strongly acid-sensitive. Layalite offers the warm light marble appearance in engineered quartz quality: acid-resistant, stain-resistant, without impregnation, with a reproducible slab image. For heavily used kitchen worktops, Layalite is considerably more practical.

Is Layalite suitable for kitchen worktops?

Yes, the material is explicitly designed for kitchen worktops. Engineered quartz is acid- and stain-resistant — wine, lemon juice, vinegar, tomato sauce or coffee leave no permanent traces. What matters is protection against very high localised heat (trivets for hot pots and pans) and avoiding aggressive solvents.

Can Layalite be used outdoors?

No. Caesarstone recommends the material exclusively for interior applications. Direct UV sunlight can cause the polymer binders to yellow over longer periods — which would be particularly quick to show on a light material.

Which finishes are available?

The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page. In a matt, honed appearance the warm cream-white surface with its fine mineral texture comes across clearly.

How do I clean Caesarstone Layalite?

Daily care with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner or warm water with washing-up liquid and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid aggressive solvents, strongly alkaline cleaners and abrasive steel wool. An impregnation is not required. Only set hot pots and pans down with trivets.

What does Caesarstone® Quarz 5121 Layalite cost?

The price depends on the format, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
