Caesarstone® Quarz 6338 Woodlands

Caesarstone® 6338 Woodlands is a dramatic dark selection from the Israeli engineered quartz manufacturer Caesarstone, part of the decorative 6 series. The polished slab shows a deep dark, almost black-brown base tone, run through with an organic, finely branched network of warm cream, rust and gold-coloured veins – stylistically an allusion to a damp forest floor threaded with roots and mineral rims. At ROSSITTIS we fabricate the large-format slabs into characterful kitchen worktops, washstands, bar counters, wall claddings and prestigious made-to-measure interior components.

Engineered quartz material from the decorative Caesarstone 6-series (Caesarstone Ltd., Israel), based on high-purity natural quartz aggregates (≈ 90–93 % quartz, ≈ 7–10 % polyester resin) – not a naturally formed stone, not a marble and not a granite. Variant 6338 “Woodlands” with a deep dark brown-black base tone and an organically branched vein network in cream, rust and gold.

About Caesarstone® Quarz 6338 Woodlands

Background. Caesarstone was founded in 1987 at Kibbutz Sdot Yam in Israel and is regarded as one of the pioneers of industrial engineered quartz slab production. The company produces its slabs in the Bretonstone® vacuum vibration compaction process and has for decades been one of the globally leading brands in this material segment. The variant presented here, 6338 Woodlands, comes from the brand's decorative 6 series, in which Caesarstone gathers its visually most expressive selections with strong veining, exotic granite characters and dramatic natural-image compositions.

Finishes

Caesarstone® Quarz 6338 Woodlands is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

A glossy surface with the highest possible degree of colour intensity — the standard finish in the engineered stone and engineered quartz segment. Easy to care for in everyday use and resistant to common household acids. A prestigious choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and exposed surfaces with a classic high-gloss character.

Care & fabrication

Cleaning. In everyday use, warm water, a soft cloth or a clean mop and a neutral to slightly alkaline pH cleaner are sufficient. Soapy engineered stone cleaners, mild all-purpose cleaners, mild washing-up foam and special engineered quartz care products are suitable. Caesarstone recommends its own care products (Caesarstone Cleaner) – these are not essential, but well matched. Take up spilt liquids – wine, coffee, juices, oil – promptly in everyday use.

Do not use. Concentrated acids (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric acid), concrete and rust removers, paint strippers, oven cleaners, acetone, petrol, thinners, nitro cleaners and very strongly alkaline industrial cleaners are off limits – they can attack the polyester resin. Also avoid chlorine-based bleaches in high concentration. Do without abrasive pads (steel wool, green scouring pads); scratching is undesirable on the polished surface, and on the dark slab fine abrasions are visible as lighter lines.

Impregnation. A classic natural stone impregnation is not necessary – engineered quartz is inherently dense and non-porous, and water absorption is below 0.05 %. A sealant would tend to show on the surface as a veil.

Kitchen. Despite its high material hardness and acid resistance, the following applies: use chopping boards (knife marks can leave the polyester resin matt over time) and use trivets for hot pots and pans – direct heat over points can cause local discolouration. Direct contact with a hot baking tray (above about 150 °C) risks stress cracks. On site, the dishwasher must not run in full contact directly beneath the slab – heat protection is standard practice. On the dark slab, water rims, limescale marks and matt abrasion traces are particularly conspicuous as lighter shadows – wiping dry promptly after each use preserves the high gloss.

Bathroom. In the bathroom, Woodlands can be used as a washstand, wall cladding with an accent character, bath surround and shower. Do not use anti-limescale sprays and limescale-dissolving bathroom cleaners in high concentration, and wipe standing water away promptly in the shower area. On a dark slab, limescale rims are visible as light traces – wiping dry daily is advisable.

Wall accent and furniture. As a wall cladding or furniture top (bar counter, reception), Woodlands is particularly effective in a high-gloss mirror finish, because the play of veins develops depth. Remove cleaning and wiping streaks immediately with a soft cloth, otherwise they remain visible as a veil.

Outdoors and frost. Not suitable for external construction. Polyester binder yellows under UV radiation, and freeze-thaw cycles can lead to micro defects. Nor is it recommended for permanent use in fully sunlit conservatories or open loggias – Caesarstone explicitly excludes external use and fully sunlit interior surfaces from the warranty.

Warranty and repair. In the residential sector Caesarstone grants a lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects (“Caesarstone Forever”), subject to fabrication and care to standard by certified specialist firms. The surface finishes available in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of material is Caesarstone® 6338 Woodlands?

It is an engineered quartz stone from the Israeli manufacturer Caesarstone, part of the decorative 6 series. High-purity natural quartz aggregates (around 90–93 % by volume) are compacted into large-format slabs with about 7–10 % polyester resin, pigments and additives in the Bretonstone® vacuum process. The veining is created using differentially pigmented mix batches introduced into the mould in several layers.

What exactly does Woodlands look like?

A deep dark, almost black-brown base tone with an organically branched network of warm cream, rust and gold tones. The veining works like mineral-lined fissures or a net of fine roots on a forest floor – dramatic, characterful and marble-inspired with a hint of exotic granite.

Is every Caesarstone slab suitable as a kitchen worktop – Woodlands too?

Yes, technically the dramatic 6 series is also designed as a kitchen worktop. Engineered quartz is more acid- and scratch-resistant than natural marble and marble agglomerate. Even so, the following applies: use chopping boards and trivets for hot pans, because the polyester resin reacts sensitively to point loads. On the dark slab, matt abrasion traces are visible as light lines – careful maintenance makes sense.

Which slab formats and thicknesses does Caesarstone offer?

Standard format 306 × 144 cm and jumbo format 327 × 162 cm, in thicknesses of 2 and 3 cm. Individual lines are also available in a thinner thickness (1.2 cm and 0.6 cm “Slim”) for lightweight wall claddings and furniture fronts.

What does the Caesarstone Mineral line mean, and does it affect 6338 Woodlands?

In spring 2024 Caesarstone introduced a new material generation with the “Mineral” line, in which a large proportion of the crystalline quartz has been replaced by other mineral aggregates – as a response to the international discourse on the risk of silicosis during fabrication. The selection documented here, 6338 Woodlands, belongs to the classic quartz mixture; a Mineral variant can be checked on request, if available.

How much do individual slabs differ from one another?

As with all veined engineered quartz slabs, individual slabs show slightly different vein courses. Within a selection the overall image remains reliable for planning, but the exact veining varies. For multi-part workpieces (island + wall shelf + bar counter), personal slab selection at the warehouse pays off.

Which cleaners may I use?

Warm water, neutral to slightly alkaline stone care products, mild all-purpose cleaners and special Caesarstone care products are permitted. Concentrated acids, concrete and rust removers, paint strippers, oven cleaners and strong solvents such as acetone, petrol or thinners are off limits. Abrasive pads should be avoided.

What warranty does Caesarstone offer?

In the residential sector Caesarstone grants a lifetime warranty (“Caesarstone Forever”) against material and manufacturing defects, subject to fabrication and care to standard. The warranty is handled through authorised specialist firms; ROSSITTIS assists with the documentation. External surfaces and fully sunlit interior areas are expressly excluded.

What does Caesarstone® Quarz 6338 Woodlands cost?

The price depends on the format, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
