About Anthrazit Black
Anthrazit Black is a dark quartzite from Brazil. The surface reads as a deep anthracite to blackish grey, usually fine-grained and very homogeneous, with only restrained lighter passages or mineral changes. This gives the stone a calm, technical material image — the exact opposite of heavily veined pale quartzites. For dark worktops, floors, stairs and façades it is one of the most robust natural stone options on the market.
The stone comes from Brazil and is clearly traded as a quartzite. An important distinction: an earlier attribution as an Italian marble is misleading for this Rossittis material — the stone in our range is a Brazilian quartzite, not the identically named Italian anthracite marble from the north. Compared with dark granites, Anthrazit Black usually appears somewhat quieter and more uniform across the surface; compared with black marbles it is uncompromising in technical terms and in everyday durability.
Technically, quartzite is a very strong rock family: bulk densities are around 2,600–2,700 kg/m³, water absorption is typically well below 0.5 %, and compressive strength lies in the 150–300 MPa range. What matters in practice: quartzite is acid-resistant and highly scratch-resistant — citrus, vinegar and wine do it no harm, and the surface stays robust even under intensive everyday kitchen use. For permanently loaded work surfaces, kitchen runs and dark façades that is a very good profile.

Anyone who wants dark calm with quartzite robustness gets, in Anthrazit Black, one of the most resilient materials for dark architecture.

Care & fabrication
As a quartzite, Anthrazit Black is easy to look after. Sealing is not essential, but it does make sense on kitchen worktops and in heavily used areas — it makes cleaning and maintenance easier and reduces visible water and grease residues.
For cleaning and maintenance, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and a soft cloth are sufficient. Because quartzite is acid-resistant, citrus, wine or vinegar do not harm the surface — a clear advantage over dark marbles and limestones.
On dark polished surfaces, water marks and fingerprints show up more quickly than on matt or textured finishes. Regular dry wiping keeps the look even.
Outdoors, a slip-resistant textured finish and correct installation matter more than specialist chemistry. As a quartzite, Anthrazit Black is durable under permanent load there.
