The material comes from Mexico, above all from the Zacatecas area. It belongs to the group of onyx rocks and is thus a lime-bound, partly translucent decorative stone. Unlike robust hard rocks such as granite or quartzite, this is not about maximum tolerance in use, but about colour effect, translucency and individuality. That is precisely why Onyx Fantastico is used above all in prestigious interior areas and markedly more rarely in hard everyday zones.

Acids can attack the surface, edges and cut-outs demand clean construction, and heavily frequented working surfaces make sense only with a realistic set of expectations.
