About Onyx Gold Iran

Onyx Gold Iran lives on warmth. Golden-yellow, yellow and amber-coloured zones merge softly into one another and create a calm, translucent image with elegant depth. In contrast to very wild multicoloured onyx patterns, this material generally appears more coherent and more refined. At ROSSITTIS we stock the stone for projects in which a warm, luminous accent is called for without the surface becoming visually too loud.

The stone is quarried in Iran, in particular in the area around Nagadeh in the province of West Azerbaijan. In the trade it is also known under names such as Onice Giallo or Onyx Gold Iran. Typical of Iranian onyxes are the cloudy structure and the good suitability for backlit applications. That is precisely where the strength of the material lies: less in technical robustness, more in depth, light and decorative effect.

Finishes

Onyx Gold Iran is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the preferred finish for onyx — the mirror-smooth surface brings out the material's varied colour character in full. The highest possible colour intensity and deep light reflection. Onyx is acid-sensitive and softer against scratches than marble — recommended for wall cladding and designed visible surfaces, less so for worktops.

Care & fabrication

You should clean and care for Onyx Gold Iran gently, because the calcareous surface reacts sensitively to acid and mechanical loading. An impregnation makes sense on all interior surfaces that are in use. Clean with pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths. You should avoid descalers, vinegar-based cleaners, abrasive agents, heavily staining soiling and high point loads on edges.

Frequently asked questions

Is Onyx Gold Iran suitable for backlit applications?

Yes, for that purpose the material is particularly interesting. The golden-yellow and amber-coloured zones gain noticeably in depth and luminosity through backlighting.

Where does Onyx Gold Iran come from?

The material originates from Iran, above all from the area around Nagadeh in West Azerbaijan. This region is known for decorative, translucent onyxes.

Can Onyx Gold Iran be used in the kitchen?

Only with a realistic expectation of care and use. For decorative islands or counters this can work; for hard working areas there are considerably more robust materials.

How do I care for Onyx Gold Iran?

Clean the surface with pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and renew the impregnation regularly. Acids and abrasive agents should not be used.

Onyx Gold Iran or Taj Mahal quartzite?

Onyx Gold Iran is translucent, more decorative and more sensitive. Taj Mahal quartzite is more robust and more suited to everyday use, but does not have the same translucent effect. The difference lies between staging and tolerance in use.

For which projects is the stone particularly suitable?

Particularly well suited to backlit walls, counters, washbasin tops, bars, spa areas and exclusive interiors with a warm, golden colouring.

What does Onyx Gold Iran cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
