Millazo is an Indian limestone with a powerfully veined image — an anthracite-grey and a creamy beige base tone alternate in horizontal bands of movement, accented by fine white healing lines. An acid-sensitive carbonate class with an elegant, dramatic slab image for prestigious wall claddings and vanity tops.

About Millazo

Millazo is an Indian limestone. India is among the world's most productive natural stone exporters — alongside its extensive granite deposits there are also productive limestone and marble provinces, particularly in Rajasthan and in Karnataka.

Geologically it is a classic carbonate limestone with a powerfully animated bedding composition. The anthracite-grey and creamy beige tonalities alternate in horizontal bands of movement — a characteristic bedding foliation that arose from differing sediment deposits during the original formation of the carbonate platform.

Finishes

Millazo is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.

Care & fabrication

Millazo is a carbonate limestone and reacts sensitively to acid. Mohs hardness approx. 3.

Daily cleaning: soft microfibre cloth, clear water, pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.

Do not use: acidic cleaners, descalers, abrasive agents.

Impregnation: recommended every 12–18 months.

Kitchen worktop: not the first choice. Acidic splashes leave etch marks.

Repair: etch marks and scratches can be evened out by professional re-polishing.
