About 9211 Taj Mahal Genius

9211 Taj Mahal Genius is an engineered quartz surface with a warm cream-white ground colour and flowing golden-brown, honey-coloured movement veins in a Calacatta / Taj Mahal character. Characteristic is the cloudy, soft veining that runs across the slab like petrified warm light and combines the calm of a Calacatta look with the even, controlled effect of an engineered quartz.

Engineered quartz is a material made predominantly of quartz grains and pigments, bound in a polyester resin matrix. The panel is virtually non-porous, scratch-resistant, stain-resistant and therefore a low-maintenance solution for heavily used visible surfaces. Unlike natural stone, the slab shows a controlled, predictable veining — ideal for projects that want the Calacatta character without accepting the variation and selection work of a natural material.

Finishes

9211 Taj Mahal Genius is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Soft Touch

As an engineered quartz, 9211 Taj Mahal Genius is virtually non-porous and needs no classic natural stone sealer. Daily cleaning is with warm water, a soft microfibre cloth and a mild, pH-neutral general-purpose cleaner. Afterwards wipe over with clear water and polish dry — otherwise wiping streaks remain visible as a veil on the pale, warm cream tonality.

Do not use: aggressive solvents, abrasive pads, strongly alkaline cleaners and acidic specialist cleaners (descalers based on phosphoric or hydrochloric acid, alloy wheel cleaners, oven sprays). These can attack the polyester resin matrix and leave matt patches.

Kitchen and bathroom: take up spilt food, wine, coffee or oil promptly with warm water and mild washing-up liquid — the surface is stain-resistant, but dark pigments can leave a veil if allowed to act for a long time. Do not set hot pots down directly from the hob — engineered quartz is heat-resistant in everyday use, but very high temperatures above 150 °C can locally damage the resin matrix. Use trivets or a chopping board.

For external applications, engineered quartz is suitable only to a limited extent — direct UV exposure can alter the pigments and the resin matrix over the long term. Recommendation: internal applications or covered external surfaces.

Scratches and repair: in the case of mechanical damage or local matt patches, a specialist engineered quartz fabricator can locally repolish the surface or make it good with colour-matched repair pastes.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of material is 9211 Taj Mahal Genius?

An engineered quartz surface with a warm cream-white ground colour and golden-brown movement veins in a Calacatta / Taj Mahal character. Engineered quartz consists predominantly of quartz grains and pigments, bound in a polyester resin matrix. “9211” is the supplier's article number; “Genius” names the surface selection.

What distinguishes 9211 Taj Mahal Genius from genuine natural stone?

Engineered quartz is an industrially manufactured material with a controlled, predictable look — the veining is evenly composed. Natural stone is grown, with individual veining and variation from panel to panel. Engineered quartz is virtually non-porous, stain-resistant and needs no sealer; natural stone shows geological authenticity with a higher care requirement.

Is 9211 Taj Mahal Genius suitable for kitchen worktops?

Yes, very much so. The engineered quartz surface is virtually non-porous, stain-resistant and scratch-resistant. Spilt food, wine and coffee can be taken up without difficulty. Heat resistance is given in everyday use — nevertheless set hot pots down on trivets, since very high temperatures can locally damage the resin matrix.

What surface variants are there?

The surfaces currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Which cleaners may I use?

Warm water, mild pH-neutral general-purpose cleaners and mild washing-up foam are permitted. Aggressive solvents, abrasive pads, strongly alkaline cleaners and acidic specialist cleaners are out of the question — these can attack the polyester resin matrix.

Is 9211 Taj Mahal Genius suitable for external applications?

Only to a limited extent. Direct UV exposure can alter the pigments and the resin matrix over the long term. We recommend the panel for internal applications or covered external surfaces — for a fully external-capable look with a warm marble character, porcelain panels or genuine quartzites come into question.
