About Calacatta Venaperla Ext. Duro

Calacatta Venaperla Ext. Duro comes from the Apuan Alps in Tuscany, the historic centre of Italian marble production. As a member of the Calacatta family it is among the most sought-after and most valuable marbles in the world. The designation is composed of two parts: 'Venaperla' (Italian for pearl vein) describes the golden-brown veining on the pearl-white background, and 'Extra Duro' the particularly high density and compactness of this block batch.

The slab pattern shows the dramatic veining typical of Calacatta: broad golden-brown to ochre veins run through a creamy white to pearly ground rock and produce a contrast that is exceptionally effective in a polished finish. Every slab has its own composition — selecting from real slab images is particularly advisable for this material.

Finishes

Calacatta Venaperla Ext. Duro is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Calacatta marble reacts sensitively to acids — wipe up lemon juice, vinegar, wine or acidic cleaners immediately. Seal carefully after installation and clean regularly with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner. No abrasives. With improper care the golden veining can show etch marks, which can be removed again by polishing.
