Bardiglietto is a blue-grey Italian marble with a calm, finely drawn Carrara character. At ROSSITTIS it is used for floors, stairs, bathrooms and wall cladding where an elegant grey marble with restrained figure is called for.
Bardiglietto is the calmer, paler side of the Bardiglio family from Carrara. The colouring moves between grey, blue-grey and fine white nuances, and the figure remains predominantly even to lightly veined. This makes the stone read as controlled, elegant and less dramatic than many other grey marbles. For floors, stairs, bathroom areas and wall cladding this is very interesting where natural stone is meant to read as high-quality but not overdrawn.
The stone comes from the Carrara district in Tuscany and is one of the classic Italian marbles. Compared with Bardiglio Imperiale, Bardiglietto is usually paler and more uniform. Against Grigio Carnico or Fior di Bosco it reads as markedly calmer and finer. It is precisely this restrained manner that makes it particularly attractive for interiors with a precise choice of material.
Technically, Bardiglietto sits at around 2,710 to 2,735 kg/m³ bulk density, around 0.18 % water absorption, approximately 135.0 MPa compressive strength and a strong 23.7 MPa flexural strength. For a marble that is a good package. At the same time the stone remains acid-sensitive. For bathrooms, walls, floors and prestige internal areas that is readily manageable, but for kitchens with intensive acid loading or careless everyday use it is considerably more demanding than granite or quartzite.

The honest assessment: Bardiglietto is not a spectacular effect marble and not a trouble-free kitchen stone. Its strength lies in fine Italian grey marble elegance with surprisingly good technical substance. Where exactly this calm precision is wanted, it is highly convincing.

Care & fabrication
Bardiglietto should be sealed carefully on floors, in the bathroom and particularly on vanity or kitchen surfaces. That makes cleaning and care easier and reduces the uptake of water, soap and staining agents.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths are suitable. Acidic cleaners, descalers and aggressive bathroom chemicals attack the marble and should be avoided.
In kitchens and bathrooms, lemon juice, vinegar, wine, perfume and cosmetic residues should not be left to act for long. Polished surfaces react visually more quickly than matt ones.
For external applications, Bardiglietto needs considerably more planning than a granite. Its real strength lies clearly in high-quality interior fit-out.
