Arabescato Corchia is a white Italian marble with strong but somewhat softer grey figuring than many Arabescato types. At ROSSITTIS it is used for bathrooms, worktops, wall cladding and stairs wherever an elegant white marble with movement is wanted.

About Arabescato Corchia

Arabescato Corchia is a white marble with clear figuring, but a somewhat softer presence than some very high-contrast Arabescato varieties. The ground colour is white to light grey, together with grey lines and clouds that are partly flowing, partly gathered into bundles. This makes the material appear high-quality and characterful without immediately becoming maximally dramatic. For interiors looking for white marble with visible movement, that is very interesting.

The stone comes from Italy, from the Apuan Alps, and belongs to the well-known Arabescato marbles of Tuscany. Compared with Arabescato Cervaiole, Corchia often appears somewhat more controlled and more domestic; compared with Carrara, however, markedly more expressive. That makes it particularly suitable for bathrooms, stairs, worktops and large-format walls wherever white surfaces are not meant to look sterile.

Arabescato Corchia is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung für Marmor und Kalkstein — eine glänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und ausgeprägter Tiefenwirkung der Aderung. Je nach mineralischer Zusammensetzung kann die Wirkung stellenweise mattglänzend sein. Säureempfindlich — Wein, Zitrone und Essig hinterlassen Ätzspuren bei längerer Einwirkung.

Care & fabrication

Arabescato Corchia should be sealed carefully on worktops, floors and in bathrooms. This makes cleaning and maintenance easier and reduces the penetration of water, oil and dyes.

For cleaning and maintenance, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths are suitable. Acidic cleaners, descalers, vinegar and citrus products are unsuitable.

On pale surfaces, wine, coffee, oil and cosmetics can become visible quickly. Regular routine cleaning is therefore particularly important.

For outdoor use, more sheltered applications and matt finishes should be considered. Polished, freely weathered surfaces are not an ideal solution with this marble.

Yes, as an exclusive worktop that is possible. With around 2,700 kg/m³ bulk density, roughly 0.19 to 0.26 % water absorption and 101 MPa compressive strength the stone is usable, but it remains clearly acid-sensitive.
