CTX BasicKeramik ABK Carrara is an Italian porcelain surface in a white-grey Carrara marble look. At ROSSITTIS we carry it for worktops, bathrooms, floors and wall surfaces wherever a classical marble effect with little care effort is called for.
ABK Carrara translates the familiar Carrara idiom into a ceramic large format. The surface shows a white to light grey ground with fine grey veining and therefore appears familiar, elegant and very versatile. Unlike dramatic Calacatta decors, the figure remains more discreet and more classical. That is precisely why the material suits many interiors in which a light marble look is wanted without the surface becoming too dominant.
The material is listed as an Italian porcelain surface. Because of its ceramic nature the water absorption is practically negligible, and the surface is more acid-resistant and easier to care for than genuine Carrara marble. For kitchens, bathrooms and large wall or floor fields this is a distinct advantage in everyday use. At the same time the appearance remains clean enough not to read like an arbitrary decor panel.
In use, ABK Carrara convinces on worktops, splashbacks, floors, wall claddings, bathroom surfaces and selected façade or external projects, provided the specific variant is intended for that purpose. Compared with genuine Carrara, the surface is more uniform and more tolerant towards everyday acids, red wine or cleaning products. Set against engineered quartz with a marble look, ceramic remains less sensitive to heat and chemicals. That makes the material very interesting in day-to-day project work.
The frank assessment: ABK Carrara does not replace the geological depth of a genuine Italian marble. Where, however, the Carrara effect is called for with markedly less care and greater technical assurance, the material is very convincing.

Soft Touch
A standard finish in the matte ceramic segment — after firing, the material is additionally brushed. It feels distinctly gentler than naturale matt, with a warm, softly tactile appearance. Easy to maintain and stain-resistant — a design-led choice for demanding visible surfaces and living concepts.
Care & fabrication
ABK Carrara needs no sealing. The ceramic porcelain surface is dense and markedly easier to care for than genuine marble.
For cleaning and care, water, mild cleaners and a soft cloth or a clean mop are sufficient. On light surfaces in particular, dyestuffs and limescale marks should be removed regularly.
Aggressive acids are less problematic than on genuine marble; even so, unnecessarily strong chemicals are not required. Gentle, regular cleaning and care is sufficient in everyday use.
For kitchens and bathrooms the material is therefore very straightforward. The right choice of finish remains more important than an elaborate care programme.
