About DIRESCO Quarz BU015 Belgian Earth

Belgian Earth is a warm dark brown tone with fine beige and brown lines. The surface recalls earth, peat and dark sediment layers and therefore appears more homely than cool anthracite or concrete designs. In kitchens, counter installations, bathrooms and high-quality interior fit-outs this colour tone works particularly well where warmth and depth are called for, without tipping over into a rustic look.

Belgian Earth is manufactured by Diresco in Belgium as an engineered quartz with a high quartz content and an almost non-porous surface. The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down. This allows the same colour to be interpreted from clearly glossy to slightly textured. For interiors this is a great advantage, because floor, counter, splashback and vanity top can be brought together cleanly in design terms.

Finishes

DIRESCO Quarz BU015 Belgian Earth is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

A glossy surface with the highest possible degree of colour intensity — the standard finish in the engineered stone and engineered quartz segment. Easy to care for in everyday use and resistant to common household acids. A prestigious choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and exposed surfaces with a classic high-gloss character.

Velvet

The surface is brushed, much like a satin finish — softer minerals are removed and a subtle depth with a matte effect is created. The velvety soft feel is characteristic and design-led. Easy to maintain and suited to everyday use; an elegant choice for demanding kitchen and wall surfaces where a softly tactile appearance is wanted.

Care & fabrication

Belgian Earth needs no classic natural stone sealer, because the engineered quartz surface is almost non-porous. That considerably reduces the care effort compared with open-pored brown marbles and limestones.

For cleaning and care, water, a microfibre cloth and a mild cleaner are sufficient. On darker brown surfaces, grease, limescale and dyes should be removed regularly so that no matt films or contrasts show up.

Abrasive cleaners, aggressive solvents and strongly alkaline products should be avoided. For periodic deep cleaning, intensive cleaners suitable for quartz make markedly more sense.

Since Belgian Earth is strongest above all for interiors, what counts here above all is clean daily cleaning and care. That keeps the warm brown tone calm, deep and even.

Frequently asked questions

Is Diresco Quarz BU015 Belgian Earth suitable for a kitchen?

Yes. Belgian Earth is very well suited to worktops and counters, because the surface is almost non-porous and markedly easier to care for in everyday use than brown marble.

What finishes are available in Belgian Earth?

The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Diresco Quarz BU015 Belgian Earth come from?

Belgian Earth is produced by Diresco in Belgium.

How do I clean Belgian Earth correctly?

For cleaning and care, water, a microfibre cloth and a mild cleaner are sufficient. A sealer is not required.

Is Belgian Earth suitable for outdoor use?

Belgian Earth is interesting above all for internal applications. For external surfaces, a Diresco line expressly approved for that purpose should rather be chosen.

Belgian Earth or Emperador marble?

Belgian Earth is more even and markedly easier to care for. Emperador appears more natural and geologically more authentic, but reacts more sensitively to acids and traces of use.

What does DIRESCO Quarz BU015 Belgian Earth cost?

The price depends on the format, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
