About DIRESCO Quarz SL101 Taj Mahal
Sublime Taj Mahal takes up the familiar colour world of the natural quartzite Taj Mahal, but translates it into a controlled, even composite surface. The overall mood is sand-beige to warm cream, overlaid with beige-gold veins that run softly across the surface. This makes the material read as elegant and calm, without taking on the wild character of some natural quartzites. In kitchens, bathrooms and high-grade furniture or wall surfaces in particular, that is of interest wherever the warm Taj Mahal character is wanted, but with a more predictable appearance.
Diresco manufactures this material in Belgium as an engineered quartz of the Sublime line. The format is 318 x 155 cm, with thicknesses of 12 and 20 mm. The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page. The surface is virtually non-porous, insensitive to staining and geared to high-grade internal applications. For specifiers this is particularly attractive where the look of a pale quartzite is called for, but without the greater variation and selection work of a natural material.
In use, SL101 Taj Mahal is suitable for worktops, vanity tops, splashbacks, wall claddings and furniture surfaces. At ROSSITTIS, Diresco Quarz SL101 Taj Mahal is available as a raw slab, worktop, splashback, vanity top, window sill, wall cladding and for other bespoke internal components.
Compared with natural Taj Mahal, the Diresco decor reads as more even and more technically controlled. Against heavily veined Calacatta decors it stays warmer and calmer. It is precisely this balance that is its strength: luxurious brightness without too much visual unrest.
The frank assessment: SL101 Taj Mahal is not a substitute for genuine quartzite in every respect. Anyone seeking the natural depth, hardness and uniqueness of the original should stay with natural stone. Anyone who needs the look in a predictable form gets a convincing alternative here.
DIRESCO Quarz SL101 Taj Mahal is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Poliert
SL101 Taj Mahal needs no classic natural stone sealer, because the engineered quartz surface is virtually non-porous. That markedly reduces everyday maintenance compared with more open-pored natural stones.
For cleaning and care, water, a microfibre cloth and a mild cleaner are sufficient. Pale beige-gold surfaces should be freed regularly of limescale, grease and darker dyes so that the appearance stays crisp.
Abrasive pads, aggressive solvents and strongly alkaline products should be avoided. For periodic deep cleaning, intensive cleaners suitable for quartz make more sense.
Since SL101 Taj Mahal is intended above all for interiors, the focus is on clean daily cleaning and care. That keeps the warm, calm figure precisely legible over the long term.
