DIRESCO Quarz BU041 Nature Beige

Material build-up and manufacture. Nature Beige consists of around 93 % natural quartz granulate (screened by grain size) and around 7 % BIO-UV resin with incorporated pigments. The mix is pressed into slabs by the Bretonstone® process (vacuum vibro-compaction under vacuum) and then cured. The BIO-UV resin matrix differs from classic polyester resin in two properties: a higher proportion of partly bio-based raw materials (a reduced CO₂ footprint) and UV stabilisation (no yellowing or bleaching under sunlight). This means Nature Beige – in contrast to classic engineered quartz slabs – is also approved for exterior applications such as outdoor kitchens, exterior floor coverings, pool surrounds and façades.

Appearance. The ground tone is a warm, sandy-creamy beige through to a delicate champagne sand with a subtle golden shimmer. Distributed evenly across the surface is very fine granular quartz granulate in grain sizes of 0.5 – 2 mm – the grains show as minimally lighter and darker sandy speckles on a creamy-warm ground. From a medium distance the surface looks almost monochrome, warm and sandy; close up one discovers the fine sugar-like granulate structure. The grade shows no veining, no fluid sweeps and no marble quotations – it lives on the clear, technically precise, evenly granular impression of a warm Mediterranean sand tone. Stylistically, Nature Beige is an allusion to a sun-warmed Mediterranean sandy beach or to a warm sandstone/building limestone.

Slab format and thicknesses. Diresco supplies Nature Beige in the standard format 318 × 155 cm (jumbo) in thicknesses of 12, 20 and 30 mm. The 12 mm slab is particularly suitable for wall claddings, bathroom fit-outs and bonded applications; the 20 mm slab is standard for kitchen worktops; the 30 mm slab for particularly heavily loaded applications or for the look of a thicker slab.

Technical properties. Nature Beige is not porous (a sealed Bretonstone surface), scratch-resistant (through its high quartz content), cut-resistant, with high compressive and flexural strength, and UV-stable through the BIO-UV resin matrix. Heat resistance: dry surface up to around 160 °C – hot pots should nevertheless not be set down directly, because thermal stresses can cause stress cracks. Frost resistance is given through the non-porous structure. The surface is acid-resistant against weak household acids (vinegar, wine, lemon, tomato) – highly concentrated acids or alkaline industrial cleaners can locally dissolve the resin matrix.

Warranty. Diresco grants a 10-year factory warranty on Nature Beige for commercial as well as private applications.

From the slabs we produce kitchen worktops, islands, bar counters, buffet and furniture tops, wall claddings, bathroom fit-outs (vanity units, wall and floor applications, showers with proper waterproofing), window sills, skirtings, interior and exterior floors, outdoor kitchens, pool surrounds and façade elements.

Comparison. Within the Diresco BIO-UV line, Nature Beige positions itself as the warm Mediterranean sandy-beige tonal variant. Related Diresco BIO-UV grades are Beach Iceberg (cool ice white, AU300), Beach Bali (warm sandy), Beach Marbella (creamy warm) and Beach Sandy Lane. Compared with classic polyester engineered quartz materials such as Caesarstone Quartz Surfaces or Silestone, Nature Beige is suitable for exterior use through its BIO-UV resin matrix – that is the essential technical differentiator. Compared with porcelain (Laminam, Neolith, Dekton, Caesarstone Lioli such as Thalassa), Nature Beige remains an engineered quartz with the heat limitation typical of polyester (160 °C) and is not quite as scratch- and acid-resistant as fully mineral-sintered slabs. Compared with genuine building limestone such as Bateig Diamante (a Spanish calcarenite) or with sandy-warm limestone grades such as Crema Marfil, Nature Beige remains predictable and acid-resistant – the natural stone originals look geologically more authentic, but are acid-sensitive (calcitic) and need an impregnation.

An honest assessment. Nature Beige is the ideal choice for any application in which a warm, creamy, sandy, evenly granular material effect and a seamless transition between interior and exterior application are wanted. The grade works particularly strongly as a warm kitchen worktop and island in Mediterranean kitchen concepts, as an outdoor kitchen worktop (which classic polyester engineered quartz materials cannot do), as wall cladding in bathroom fit-outs and as a pool surround. Anyone looking for a cool ice-white tone should reach for Beach Iceberg; anyone who needs absolute heat resistance for hot pots set down directly should switch to a porcelain such as Caesarstone Lioli Thalassa; anyone who wants dramatic veining should switch to marble-quoting grades such as Caesarstone Lioli or to genuine natural stone.
