Estremoz Branco Extra is one of those white marbles that make their impact not through strong veining but through calm and materiality. The material shows a clear white to slightly warm white ground tone with only very restrained clouding. It is precisely this calm that makes the stone so interesting for generous wall claddings, bathrooms, stairs, floors and refined interior fit-out. Compared with Carrara, Estremoz Branco Extra usually appears warmer and more homogeneous; compared with very dramatic Calacatta grades, considerably quieter and more architectural.
The stone comes from Portugal and belongs to the Estremoz marble world, one of the most important European marble districts. Petrographically it is a marble, that is, a metamorphically transformed limestone. That explains the good polishability, the calm crystalline depth and, at the same time, the acid sensitivity typical of the material. For planners, Estremoz Branco Extra is often interesting when a light European marble is wanted that looks refined without bringing along the strong veining logic of Italian marbles.
Technically the material is well documented for a white marble: bulk density is 2,718 kg/m³, compressive strength 85.1 MPa, flexural strength 20.3 MPa, water absorption only 0.06 % and the abrasion value 2.2 mm. This very low water absorption is a strong figure for a marble. It does not make Estremoz Branco Extra acid-resistant, but it does indicate a dense, high-quality structure. For interior floors, wall surfaces, steps and cut components that is a very good technical profile.

At ROSSITTIS, Estremoz Branco Extra is available as a raw slab, in tiles, as tread and riser, window sill, skirting, wall cladding and as a made-to-measure component. As an alternative to Bianco Carrara it appears more homogeneous; as an alternative to light quartzite, softer and classically marble-like.
The honest assessment: Estremoz Branco Extra is a very high-quality white marble, but not a material for carefree kitchen or bathroom use with aggressive chemicals. Its strength lies in brightness, calm and precision work. Anyone looking for exactly that, and accepting the care requirement of a marble, gets a convincing European white stone at a high level.

Poliert

Care & fabrication
Estremoz Branco Extra should be sealed directly after installation. The water absorption of 0.06 % is very low, yet a good sealer still makes everyday cleaning and care considerably easier.
For cleaning and care, use pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, clear water and a soft microfibre cloth. On light polished marble surfaces in particular, residues should not be allowed to dry on.
Avoid vinegar cleaners, citrus cleaners, sanitary cleaners, limescale removers and abrasive products. Coffee, red wine, oil, lemon juice and cosmetics should be removed promptly from horizontal surfaces.
If you want to keep Estremoz Branco Extra beautiful in the long term, the sealer should be refreshed regularly depending on the level of use. In the bathroom and kitchen this matters more than on wall surfaces.
