About Estremoz Rosa Do Monte

Estremoz Rosa Do Monte lives from a soft interplay of colour between rosé, grey-rosé and slightly beige-lightened areas. The brecciated structure gives the stone movement without making it restless. As a result it appears classic and elegant, but not cool. In floors, stairs, wall claddings and prestige interiors in particular this is interesting where a pink marble is wanted that reads not as kitsch but as grown-up and architectural.

The stone comes from Vila Viçosa in the Alentejo and belongs to Portugal's large Estremoz marble world. Technically, bulk density is around 2,720 kg/m³, compressive strength around 70.2 MPa, flexural strength around 18.2 MPa and water absorption only around 0.10 per cent. The material is dense and well suited to interior applications, but it clearly remains a calcareous marble. Polished surfaces are not permanently stable outdoors, and acids remain a critical point.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung für Marmor und Kalkstein — eine glänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und ausgeprägter Tiefenwirkung der Aderung. Je nach mineralischer Zusammensetzung kann die Wirkung stellenweise mattglänzend sein. Säureempfindlich — Wein, Zitrone und Essig hinterlassen Ätzspuren bei längerer Einwirkung.

Care & fabrication

As a marble, Estremoz Rosa Do Monte should be carefully protected with a natural stone sealer. This reduces staining risks, but does not replace use appropriate to the material.

pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are suitable for cleaning and care. Wine, coffee, oil, lemon juice, vinegar and limescale-dissolving bathroom cleaners should not be left to act for long.

Avoid acidic cleaners, descalers and abrasive products. On light to rosé-coloured marbles in particular, dull patches and etch marks show up quickly.

For surfaces that stay beautiful, the rule is: clean and care for them regularly, check the sealer, and avoid polished surfaces outdoors wherever possible.
