Quartzite from Brazil

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro is a light rosé-coloured quartzite with a warm, friendly presence and crystalline hardness. At ROSSITTIS it is used for stairs, floors, wall surfaces and selected kitchens or exterior areas, where a light natural stone with more robustness than marble is wanted.

About Rosa Quarzit Chiaro

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro brings colour into play without becoming loud. The stone moves between light rosé, beige, cream and occasional golden or white inclusions. This makes it appear warm and friendly, but not playful. Particularly on projects where a neutral grey stone would be too cool, Rosa Quarzit Chiaro creates a more pleasant atmosphere. Compared with pink granites it usually appears more planar and more crystalline; compared with pink marble, considerably more robust.

Quartzite is formed from quartz-rich sandstone under high pressure and high temperature. It is precisely from this that the hardness of the material derives. Many pink natural stones on the market are either decorative marbles or granular granites. Rosa Quarzit Chiaro occupies an interesting position between the two: it brings warmth, but stays technically closer to hard rock. For stairs, wall surfaces, floors and selected kitchens, that is attractive.

Finishes

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for quartzite — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced sense of depth. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be satin-gloss in places. As a silicate rock it is fully acid-resistant and scratch-hard — ideal for kitchen worktops and feature surfaces.

Care & fabrication

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro is easier to care for than marble, but on floors, kitchens and external surfaces it nevertheless benefits from a good impregnation. Moisture and soiling are then easier to control.

pH-neutral natural stone cleaners are sufficient for cleaning and care. Strongly abrasive agents or unnecessarily aggressive chemicals should be avoided, particularly on the material surface.

Oil, limescale and intensely coloured liquids should not be left standing for long on light surfaces. Not because the quartzite is particularly delicate, but so that the friendly light effect is preserved.

Outdoors, the appropriate surface finish, good drainage and proper laying are decisive. The stone is technically capable of a great deal, but nevertheless demands clean execution.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rosa Quarzit Chiaro suitable for the kitchen?

Yes, usually considerably better than pink marble. With a bulk density of around 2,650 to 2,750 kg/m³, water absorption of up to 0.7 % and high compressive strength, the material is in principle well suited to kitchens.

Where does Rosa Quarzit Chiaro come from?

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro is traded above all from Brazil. Typical are warm rosé to cream-coloured quartzite batches with a crystalline structure.

Which surface finish suits Rosa Quarzit Chiaro?

The surface finishes available in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

How do I care for Rosa Quarzit Chiaro?

Impregnation and neutral natural stone care are as a rule sufficient. Against acids, quartzite is considerably more relaxed than marble.

Rosa Quarzit Chiaro or pink marble?

Quartzite is as a rule more robust, less acid-sensitive and more practical for everyday use. Pink marble often appears softer and more classic, but demands more care.

What does Rosa Quarzit Chiaro cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
