About Fior di Bosco
Fior di Bosco appears considerably calmer than many dramatic dark marbles, but by no means dull. The colour moves between grey, taupe, brown and soft, partly smoky nuances. To this comes a cloudy or mottled movement that gives the stone depth without making it look restless. That is exactly what makes it so attractive for bathrooms, washstands, floor fields and prestige wall surfaces. It is dark enough for presence, but soft enough for domestic elegance.
The stone comes from Italy and is clearly listed as a marble in the market. Depending on the deposit and trade line, Fior di Bosco is associated with Suvereto, Tuscany or related Fior di Pesco types. For planning, more important than the fine petrographic discussion is that the material is conceived in design terms as a grey luxury marble. Compared with Grigio Carnico, Fior di Bosco often appears softer and cloudier; compared with Pietra Grey, less severe and less high in contrast.
Technically the material sits in the range of a dense but acid-sensitive marble. Public figures state bulk densities of around 2,680 to 2,695 kg/m³, compressive strengths of around 98 to 123 MPa, flexural strengths of around 13.4 to 17 MPa and water absorption between about 0.08 and 0.26 %. That is amply sufficient for many interior applications, but it demands the same honesty as with any other marble: kitchens only with care-consciousness, polished external surfaces rather not, and acids remain an issue.

For projects that want dark natural stone but do not wish to go into hard black, this is a very coherent material.
The honest assessment: Fior di Bosco is not a robust everyday hard stone and not a substitute for black. Its strength lies in its warm grey elegance. Anyone looking for a dark marble with nuance gets a very good choice here.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.
Honed C220
A matt appearance created by fine honing with C220 grit — the level surface looks calm, with a somewhat more intense colour effect than C120; light honing marks are possible. More maintenance-intensive than polished, but more scratch-resistant and matt-elegant — a popular choice for modern floors and wall claddings.
Care & fabrication
Fior di Bosco should be carefully sealed after installation. Even with a denser structure, as a marble the material remains sensitive to acids and staining agents.
pH-neutral natural stone cleaners are suitable for cleaning and care. Acidic cleaners, descalers and aggressive bathroom or kitchen chemicals are unsuitable.
Oil, wine, lemon, coffee and cosmetics should be removed promptly. Darker marbles forgive a certain amount visually, but dull patches and reaction traces remain visible.
Outdoors, restraint makes sense, particularly with polished surfaces. The strongest side of Fior di Bosco lies clearly in interior fit-out.
