Quartzite from Brazil

Fusion

Fusion is a Brazilian blue-grey-gold quartzite with a cloudy, animated, almost flowing structure. ROSSITTIS carries it for worktops, walls and exclusive interiors where a powerful quartzite with plenty of movement is called for.

About Fusion

Fusion is one of those Brazilian quartzites that take effect immediately through their image. Steel blue, anthracite, cream, rust orange and warm gold tones run cloudily and fluidly across the surface. This makes the stone neither calm nor homogeneous, but almost like a frozen movement. On large kitchen islands, splashbacks, wall panels and stairs in particular this becomes interesting wherever a material is meant to work as the design focal point.

As a quartzite, Fusion brings the typical advantages of this rock class with it: high hardness, a dense structure and good chemical resistance. Trade sources quote bulk densities of around 2,650 to 2,750 kg/m³ for this variety, compressive strengths of roughly 190 to 210 MPa, flexural strengths of about 20 to 25 MPa and water absorption of approximately 0.10 to 0.15 per cent. Fusion is therefore clearly anchored in the robust quartzite class and markedly more resilient than many decorative marbles of similarly spectacular effect.

Finishes

Fusion is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for quartzite — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced sense of depth. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be satin-gloss in places. As a silicate rock it is fully acid-resistant and scratch-hard — ideal for kitchen worktops and feature surfaces.

Satin-honed

The surface is brushed — softer minerals are removed in a targeted way, creating a slight depth and a matt appearance. Veined quartzites gain a special character in this way. Acid-resistant and scratch-resistant, easy to care for in daily use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.

Care & fabrication

Despite its high quartzite hardness, Fusion should be protected with a suitable silane-based sealer, particularly on worktops and bathroom surfaces. This reduces the penetration of oils and colouring agents.

For cleaning and care, water, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths are suitable. Even so, coffee, wine, oil and strongly colouring foods should not be left standing on the surface any longer than necessary.

Avoid aggressive specialist chemicals and strongly abrasive cleaners. Even with a robust quartzite, gentle cleaning and care remain the better solution.

For external surfaces: clean and care for them regularly, ensure water drainage and work over textured surfaces thoroughly when dirt settles.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fusion suitable for the kitchen?

Yes. As a quartzite, Fusion is very well suited to worktops, because the material is hard, dense and less sensitive to acid than marble.

Which finishes are available for Fusion?

The surface finishes currently in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Fusion come from?

Fusion comes from Brazil.

How do I clean Fusion correctly?

For cleaning and care, water, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths are suitable. A suitable sealer makes sense on kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

Is Fusion frost-resistant?

Yes, quartzites are fundamentally very robust and well suited to interior as well as exterior applications. Fusion too can be used in properly matched external projects.

Fusion or Taj Mahal?

Fusion is distinctly more colourful, more dramatic and more animated. Taj Mahal appears calmer, brighter and more elegantly restrained.

What does Fusion cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
