Quartzite from Brazil

Cocada Blue

Cocada Blue Quartzite is a Brazilian blue-grey quartzite with cream-coloured and greenish inclusions and a strongly animated luxury look. At ROSSITTIS we carry it for striking kitchen islands, wall panels, stairs and other surfaces where natural stone is deliberately meant to take centre stage.

About Cocada Blue

Cocada Blue Quartzite is not a quiet stone. The surface lives from an intense interplay of blue, grey-blue, cream, green and partly smoky transitional zones that read almost like brushstrokes laid over one another. This creates a pictorial depth considerably more expressive than that of classic grey quartzites or blue hard stones. Anyone looking for a calm background slab is in the wrong place. Anyone wanting a surface with genuine presence and rare colour gets exactly that.

Finishes

Cocada Blue is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for quartzite — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced sense of depth. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be satin-gloss in places. As a silicate rock it is fully acid-resistant and scratch-hard — ideal for kitchen worktops and feature surfaces.

Care & fabrication

Cocada Blue Quartzite should be professionally sealed on worktops and other intensively used surfaces. Even robust quartzites benefit from this, because water, oil and dyes are then easier to control.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft cloth are enough. On darker and more animated surfaces, limescale films, grease and soap residues should be removed regularly so that the depth of the stone stays clear.

Aggressive acids, strong descalers and abrasive pads are unnecessary. What matters is regular, gentle cleaning and care with stone-appropriate products.

For external projects, besides the sealer it is above all the right surface that matters. On stairs and walkways, grippier finishes usually make more sense than a high gloss.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cocada Blue Quartzite suitable for the kitchen?

Yes. As a quartzite, Cocada Blue is considerably more robust than marble and very well suited to kitchen worktops and islands.

Which surfaces are available for Cocada Blue Quartzite?

The surface finishes available in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Cocada Blue Quartzite come from?

The stone is traded from Brazil, above all from the state of Bahia.

How do I clean Cocada Blue Quartzite?

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft cloth are enough. A sealer makes sense for worktops.

Is Cocada Blue Quartzite frost-resistant?

Quartzites are fundamentally robust hard stones and are also of interest for suitable external applications. For walkable areas, the surface and the construction should be chosen to match.

Cocada Blue or blue marble?

Cocada Blue is considerably more resistant and better suited to everyday use. Blue marble often appears softer and more refined, but is more sensitive.

What does Cocada Blue cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
