Juparana Classico Rio is a Brazilian hard stone with flowing beige-grey-brown movement, petrographically a gneiss and carried in the trade as a granite. At ROSSITTIS we supply it as a raw slab as well as for tiles and floors whenever lively natural stone markings with robust technology are called for.

Juparana Classico Rio is one of the classic Brazilian stones of movement. Instead of a granular granite image it shows flowing lines, bands and waves in beige, grey, brown and slightly reddish tones. This produces a warm, lively surface that appears very distinctive on large floors or kitchen tops. Compared with calmer grey granites, Juparana Classico Rio is considerably more dynamic; compared with very wild exotics, however, it still remains easy to control. That is exactly why it has been used in Germany for years for floors, kitchens and stairs.
The stone comes from Brazil and is traditionally offered in the trade as a granite. Petrographically it is a gneiss, that is, a metamorphic hard stone with a directional structure. For day-to-day planning, however, the commercial classification is apt, because its technical behaviour, fields of use and fabrication lie clearly in the granite segment. Juparana stones are used above all where a warm natural stone character with movement is sought without moving into the care sensitivity of a marble.
Technically, Juparana Classico Rio is resilient. The bulk density is 2,590 kg/m³, the compressive strength 136 MPa. Added to this are confirmed frost resistance, the usual acid resistance in construction use and a polish that can also be durable outdoors. That makes the stone interesting not only for interiors but also for selected external applications. For floors, wall claddings, kitchen worktops and stairs it is therefore a very versatile option.
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page. At ROSSITTIS, Juparana Classico Rio is available as a raw slab as well as for tile and floor applications.
The honest assessment: Juparana Classico Rio is not a stone for minimalist, almost monochrome designs. Its strength lies in movement, warmth and robust suitability for everyday use. Anyone looking for exactly that gets a very resilient classic here.

Technical data
Guide values for the stone type, taken from manufacturer and test reports. Natural stone is a natural product — individual batches and slabs can differ. For critical applications, request slab-specific test data.
Juparana Classico Rio is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Poliert
Juparana Classico Rio should be sealed on floors and worktops so that water, oil and coloured liquids penetrate the surface less readily. With animated, lighter passages in particular that makes everyday use considerably easier.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are sufficient. On kitchen surfaces, grease, coffee and wine should not be left standing unnecessarily long, even though the material is considerably more robust than marble.
Avoid aggressive descalers, strongly film-forming care products and abrasive pads. An animated hard stone is easier to clean and care for when the surface is not loaded with unnecessarily harsh chemicals.
Outdoors, clean and care for the stone regularly, remove organic growth early and refresh the sealer according to use. That keeps the markings clear and the surface clean over the long term.
Frequently asked questions
Is Juparana Classico Rio suitable for a kitchen?
Yes. With a bulk density of 2,590 kg/m³, a compressive strength of 136 MPa and the everyday suitability typical of granite, Juparana Classico Rio is well suited to kitchen worktops and islands.
Which finishes are available for Juparana Classico Rio?
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Where does Juparana Classico Rio come from?
The stone comes from Brazil. Juparana materials of this kind have been fixtures in the German natural stone market for years.
How do I clean Juparana Classico Rio correctly?
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths are enough. On kitchen surfaces, grease and coloured media should be removed promptly.
Is Juparana Classico Rio frost-resistant?
Yes. Frost resistance is documented for Juparana Classico Rio, and the polish is also regarded as durable outdoors. The stone is therefore well suited to selected external applications as well.
Is Juparana Classico Rio really a granite?
Geologically it is a gneiss. In the natural stone trade the material is carried as a granite because of its technical properties and typical applications.
