About Ametista

Ametista is not a quiet stone. Its effect lives on violet, grey-violet and darker mineral areas that give the surface an almost amethyst-like depth. This makes the material read as individual and exclusive without becoming decoratively arbitrary. In interiors where colour is placed deliberately, this stone works very well. At the same time the surface remains precise and load-bearing in the manner typical of a hard rock.

The stone comes from Brazil and is petrographically a gneiss. In the trade, however, it is clearly read within the granite or hard rock segment. That also matters for the application: compared with violet or brown-toned marbles, Ametista is markedly more robust and more capable in everyday use. Against neutral granites it reads as more colourful and more characterful. It is precisely this mixture that makes it interesting for worktops, stairs, floors and facade accents.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung im Hartgesteinsegment — eine spiegelglatte, hochglänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und maximaler Tiefenwirkung der Mineralstruktur. Als säurebeständiges Silikatgestein ist polierter Granit pflegeleicht und für Küchenarbeitsplatten, Wandverkleidungen und repräsentative Sichtflächen erste Wahl.

Care & fabrication

Ametista is easy to look after, but should nevertheless be sealed on kitchen and bathroom surfaces. That makes cleaning and care easier and keeps grease or limescale films better under control.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, a soft cloth and regular dry wiping are sufficient. Aggressive chemistry is usually unnecessary with this hard rock.

On darker and coloured surfaces, water marks or soap residues can become visually apparent, even though the material remains technically robust. Regular maintenance cleaning is therefore worthwhile.

Outdoors, the appropriate finish, clean drainage and proper installation matter more than special care. Textured surfaces are usually at an advantage there.
