About Multicolor Rot India

Multicolor Rot India belongs to those red hard rocks that do not read as a flat, single colour but live on movement. The material shows a grey-pink to reddish ground tone crossed by dark brown to black waves. This produces a lively but not chaotic pattern that works well on stairs, window sills, floors and wall cladding. Anyone looking for a red stone in the granite family usually wants exactly this mix of warmth, technical robustness and markedly natural figuring. Multicolor Rot India delivers that very reliably. Petrographically it is a migmatite — a metamorphic mixed rock of igneous and metamorphic components, which in the trade is clearly assigned to the granite family and behaves correspondingly resiliently. Compared with Rosso Balmoral, Multicolor Rot India appears more organic and softer in its flowing pattern; compared with Rosa Porrino it is usually somewhat darker and more animated. Technically the material is soundly positioned: bulk density is 2,622–2,700 kg/m³, compressive strength 147.0–207.9 MPa, flexural strength 16.47 MPa and water absorption 0.2–0.3 %. Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.

Satin-honed

The satin surface is created by brushing, which selectively removes softer minerals and gives the surface a slight depth. A matte appearance with subtle light reflection and a warm feel to the touch. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and suited to everyday use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.

River finish

The surface is roughened by water pressure and then given a colour-enhancing treatment — the shade comes through more strongly than on the flamed-and-brushed variant. Recommended for outdoor areas, terraces and façade claddings that call for a level, slip-resistant surface with a powerful depth of colour.

Sandblasted + satin-honed

The surface is roughened by sandblasting and then brushed — this creates a level surface with a softer feel than sandblasted alone. The colour appears restrained and the texture is slip-resistant. For demanding outdoor applications in which secure footing is to be combined with a finer tactile quality.

Fiammato (flamed)

During flaming the surface is treated with a high-temperature flame — the quartz-bearing components burst open and a rough, grippy texture is created. The colour appears less intense than on polished versions. Because of the high slip resistance, recommended for outdoor areas, steps and paved surfaces.

Flamed + brushed once

The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. The standard choice for outdoor areas, terraces and heavily used floor areas.

Care & fabrication

Multicolor Rot India should be sealed after installation, particularly on pale-grouted or heavily used surfaces. Sealing makes cleaning and maintenance easier and reduces the take-up of oil and dirt. For cleaning and maintenance, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, warm water and a soft cloth are sufficient. On polished surfaces, greasy or calcareous residues should not be allowed to dry on. Avoid strongly abrasive cleaning products and unnecessarily aggressive specialist chemistry. Coffee, oil or tannins from leaves should be taken up promptly on horizontal surfaces so that the surface stays visually even. Outdoors, regular cleaning, functioning drainage and restrained use of de-icing salt help to keep the surface clean and grippy in the long term.
