Royal Flower is a Greek marble with a warm creamy pink base tone and powerfully fluid, animated veining that reads like floral movement ornament — hence the brand name “Royal Flower”. An acid-sensitive carbonate marble class with a decidedly elegant, romantic pictorial composition for prestige wall claddings, vanity tops and statement areas of upmarket interior architecture.
A Greek carbonate marble (a platform limestone recrystallised by tectonic pressure metamorphism from the Mesozoic depositional areas of the former Tethys). Mineralogically dominated by calcite with iron oxide pigmentation for the warm rose-cream tonality and secondary vein mineralisations for the powerful floral vein markings. Mohs hardness approx. 3, acid-sensitive, good polishability.

About Royal Flower
Royal Flower is a Greek marble from the extensive marble deposits of northern Greece. Greece has been one of the most important marble provinces in the world since antiquity — from Pentelic marble (the Athens region, the material of the Parthenon) through Volakas (Drama, northern Greece) to the dramatic rose and cream-coloured variants such as Royal Flower.
Geologically it is a carbonate marble — a platform limestone recrystallised by tectonic pressure metamorphism from the Mesozoic depositional areas of the former Tethys, which was transformed into a crystalline marble under raised temperature and pressure conditions. The warm pink tonality arises from iron oxide pigmentation of the calcite components, which were enclosed in the carbonate ground during diagenetic and metamorphic development.
In the slab appearance, Royal Flower shows a characteristically romantic composition: a warm creamy pink base tone, run through with powerfully fluid, animated veining in darker rose, bordeaux and golden cream tones. The vein markings appear not rigidly linear but flowing and organic, with branchings and knot zones that read like floral blossom movement ornament — hence the brand name “Royal Flower”. In places the veining condenses into powerful knots, then runs on softly and in a controlled manner. A decidedly elegant, romantic composition with a classic Mediterranean marble character and at the same time a poetic pictorial idea.
For the application this means: Royal Flower is a decidedly elegant choice for prestige wall claddings, vanity tops, bar counters, table surfaces and internal surfaces with a luxurious, romantic claim. Combined with warm timber, brushed brass, bronze, rose gold accents and muted powdery colour tones, the material develops an atmospheric, luxurious, almost feminine effect — an exceptional choice for classically elegant bathrooms, hotel suites and prestige living spaces.
Technically, Royal Flower is, like all carbonate marbles, acid-sensitive (Mohs hardness approx. 3) and requires a corresponding awareness in care. Acidic splashes (wine, lemon, tomato sauce, vinegar) leave matt etch marks on the polished surface immediately — a property typical of marble that has to be taken into account when planning the application. For intensively used kitchen worktops, Royal Flower is therefore not a first choice; for prestige wall and vanity top applications, on the other hand, it is excellently suited.
At ROSSITTIS we currently hold Royal Flower as 32 raw slabs in various thicknesses and finishes. On request we produce from these wall claddings, vanity tops, bar counters, table surfaces, stairs, floor and wall tiles and project-specific special cuts. For bookmatch compositions with mirrored slab pairs we are glad to reserve material on request directly from the same block — the fluid, animated vein markings of Royal Flower deliver particularly impressive axially symmetrical images with a dramatically floral effect.
For anyone comparing Royal Flower with other materials: stylistically close are other rose-coloured marbles such as Rosa Portogallo (Portugal), Rose Aurora (Portugal), Rosa Beta (Sardinia — although markedly more robust, being a granite) and various Mediterranean rose-cream marble variants. In the field of porcelain with a similar pictorial idea, Laminam Diamond Collection designs and Caesarstone Lioli Porcelain marble looks offer comparable reproductions with the full robustness of the material.
Our frank assessment: Royal Flower is a particularly characterful choice for projects with a claim to a romantic, elegant marble look in prestige wall and vanity top applications. Anyone who needs maximum acid resistance for intensive kitchen applications should reach for porcelain with a marble look or for quartzite. But anyone who values the authentic warm rose-cream marble character with fluid, floral vein dramaturgy will find in Royal Flower a decidedly poetic stone with a culturally historic Greek provenance.

Royal Flower is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.
Care & fabrication
Royal Flower is a carbonate marble and reacts sensitively to acid. Mohs hardness approx. 3.
Daily cleaning: a soft microfibre cloth, clear water and a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.
Do not use: lemon, vinegar or acidic cleaners, descalers, scouring agents, steel wool. These leave matt etch marks on the polished surface that can only be removed by professional repolishing.
Sealing: recommended directly after installation and, depending on use, every 12–18 months. On the light rose-cream tonality, a sealer is important in order to forestall oil and cosmetic stains.
Kitchen worktop: not a first choice. Acidic splashes (wine, lemon, tomato sauce, vinegar) leave matt etch marks immediately. For prestige wall applications, vanity tops and areas of moderate use, on the other hand, Royal Flower is excellently suited.
Vanity top and bathroom: wipe away limescale-bearing water splashes regularly. On no account remove limescale rings at the tap with a descaler — these attack the marble immediately. Work with warm water and a microfibre cloth instead.
Repair: etch marks and scratches in the polish can be evened out by professional repolishing.
Frequently asked questions
What does the brand name “Royal Flower” mean?
“Royal Flower” describes the characteristic fluid, animated vein markings of the slab appearance, which read like floral blossom movement ornament. On the warm rose-cream base tone, the branchings of the vein runs create images that recall blossoming flowers — hence the poetic brand name.
Where does Royal Flower come from?
From the extensive marble deposits of Greece.
Is Royal Flower suitable for a kitchen?
Not a first choice. As an acid-sensitive carbonate marble, wine, lemon and tomato sauce leave matt etch marks immediately. For prestige wall claddings, vanity tops and statement areas it is ideally suited.
Is Royal Flower suitable for bookmatching?
Excellently. With mirrored slab pairs, the fluid, animated floral vein markings deliver particularly dramatic axially symmetrical images with an ornamental, floral effect — ideal for statement wall claddings with the character of a lead player.
Which finishes are available?
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Royal Flower or Rosa Portogallo?
Both are warm rose-coloured marbles. Rosa Portogallo (Portuguese marble) is mostly more even and more monochrome; Royal Flower shows markedly more powerful fluid, floral vein markings with dramatic movement ornament. Which choice suits depends on the desired intensity of the image.
Is Royal Flower frost-resistant and suitable for external use?
With reservations. Like all carbonate marbles, Royal Flower is not a first choice under free external weathering — the input of acid through acid rain, freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salt all act unfavourably. For roofed external surfaces or protected external areas it is possible with good sealing; for open external surfaces, prefer granite, quartzite or porcelain.
How much material do you currently have in stock?
We currently hold 32 raw slabs of Royal Flower. For larger projects and bookmatch compositions we recommend reserving promptly — Greek premium marbles are often limited in stock availability.
What does Royal Flower cost?
The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
