Anden Phyllit Matrix GIS is a dark grey Brazilian hard rock with a schistose, matt surface and a technical effect outdoors. At ROSSITTIS it is used for stairs, facades, floors and contract construction, wherever a load-bearing dark stone without high gloss is called for.

About Anden Phyllit Matrix GIS

Anden Phyllit Matrix GIS is a market-oriented variant of the same dark material character that is valued in German-speaking contract and external construction: anthracite-grey to dark grey tones, a clear schistose structure and a surface that works through feel rather than gloss. This makes the stone a good fit for architecture that is meant to read as robust, calm and deliberately unpolished.

The stone comes from Brazil and is petrographically a mica schist. In the trade, however, it is read not as a sensitive slate but as a load-bearing hard rock. In the GIS and contract-oriented context in particular, what matters is that the material has already been proven for floors, stairs, walls and facades in Germany. Compared with uniform dark granites it reads as more textured; against classic slates, more technical and more durable.

Care & fabrication

Anden Phyllit Matrix GIS is easy to look after and designed for matt, load-bearing use. A sealer can make cleaning and care additionally easier on internal surfaces or in wet areas.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft brush or cloth are sufficient. Strong specialist chemistry is not required.

More important than chemical care is proper fabrication. With schistose stones, formats, edges and substructure should be cleanly coordinated.

Outdoors, regular removal of dirt and functioning drainage keep the surface permanently clean and slip-resistant.
