About Belphegor

Belphegor comes from Israel and belongs to the group of Levantine limestones – sedimentary rocks that formed in the eastern Mediterranean under particular geological and climatic conditions. The result is a limestone with a warm, oxide-coloured tone in gold ochre, terracotta and brown-red, shot through with pale, organic inclusions – fossils, shell remains and sediment structures that make every slab unique.

The colouring of Belphegor is warm and lively, with a natural range of variation between batches that underlines the authentic character of the material. The slab image tells of its formation in the shallow tropical sea of the Cretaceous and combines geological history with aesthetic quality.

Finishes

Belphegor is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Satiniert

Belphegor should be treated with a suitable sealer after installation. Limestone is sensitive to acids – take up acidic cleaners, vinegar or lemon juice immediately. For daily care, use pH-neutral natural stone cleaners. The warm colouring can be permanently impaired by improper care.
