Jerusalem Gold is a golden beige Israeli dimension stone with a calm limestone structure and a classic architectural effect. At ROSSITTIS we currently carry it above all as a skirting, whenever a warm Jerusalem Stone tone is called for as a precise detail.

About Jerusalem Stone Gold
Jerusalem Gold stands for those warm, sandy-golden stone images that immediately convey a Mediterranean to Middle Eastern architectural attitude. The colour moves between golden beige, honey and pale sand; the structure remains fine, calm and slightly dimension-stone-like. That is exactly what makes the material look dignified and grounded without becoming ornamental. Compared with more strongly fossiliferous limestones, Jerusalem Gold usually appears more compact and calmer; compared with pale marbles, considerably drier and more architectural.
The material family comes from Israel, from the Jerusalem area. Geologically it is a limestone, but in the natural stone trade Jerusalem Gold is frequently carried in the marble segment, or rather as Jerusalem Stone. For planning, this customary commercial classification is plausible, because the material is read above all through atmosphere, surface effect and classic dimension stone applications. Combined with timber, bronze, broken white tones and textured renders in particular, the stone works very convincingly.
For Jerusalem Gold, bulk densities of around 2,640 kg/m³, water absorption of around 0.74 %, compressive strengths of around 133.3 MPa and flexural strengths of around 9.4 MPa are typical within this material family. That is solid for many interior applications and selected matt external applications, but it also shows the limits: acid sensitivity and lower abrasion reserves than granite or quartzite have to be borne in mind honestly. Smooth external surfaces in particular are not a sensible long-term solution here.
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page. Tumbled or antiqued finishes look particularly coherent where a softer, historical expression is wanted. At ROSSITTIS, Jerusalem Gold is currently carried above all as a skirting and is therefore suitable for fine transitions, wall plinths and complementary details in matching natural stone projects.
The honest assessment: Jerusalem Gold is not a high-gloss stone for maximum effect. Its strength lies in calm, warmth and cultural resonance. Anyone looking for exactly this classic dimension stone atmosphere gets a very convincing material here.

Guide values for the stone type, taken from manufacturer and test reports. Natural stone is a natural product — individual batches and slabs can differ. For critical applications, request slab-specific test data.
Jerusalem Stone Gold is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Satin-honed
The surface is brushed — softer minerals are selectively removed, creating a subtle depth and a matte appearance. Strongly veined limestones in particular gain a characterful look and feel this way. The more matte finish conceals small etch marks better than a polish and stands up better to everyday use on heavily used interior surfaces.
Tumbled
Through friction with rock aggregates and water in a rotating drum, a matt surface is created with slightly chipped edges and a satin-like tactile quality. It looks naturally aged. Suitable exclusively for wall and floor tiles, not for raw slabs — the standard choice for Mediterranean and antiqued design concepts.
Care & fabrication
Jerusalem Gold should be carefully sealed on plinths, floors and other interior surfaces so that moisture and dirt penetrate the surface less readily. With warm limestone tones in particular, that makes later cleaning and care considerably easier.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, soft cloths or brushes and little standing water are suitable. Acidic household cleaners and descalers are unsuitable for this stone.
Avoid aggressive chemicals, strong limescale removers and harsh abrasives. Jerusalem Gold can be cleaned and cared for well over the long term as long as matt surfaces are not overstressed with unsuitable products.
In entrance and plinth areas, clean and care for the stone regularly, remove loose dirt particles early and refresh the sealer when needed. That keeps the warm golden beige effect permanently clean and calm.
Frequently asked questions
Is Jerusalem Gold suitable for a kitchen?
For carefully used areas Jerusalem Gold can be employed, but it remains an acid-sensitive limestone in the marble segment. For hard everyday kitchen use, granite or quartzite are easier to care for.
Which finishes suit Jerusalem Gold?
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Where does Jerusalem Gold come from?
Jerusalem Gold comes from Israel, from the Jerusalem area. It is precisely this origin that shapes the well-known, warmly golden Jerusalem Stone appearance.
How do I clean Jerusalem Gold correctly?
For cleaning and care, use only pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths. Acidic cleaners and descalers are unsuitable for this stone.
Is Jerusalem Gold suitable for outdoor use?
For selected matt external applications Jerusalem Gold can be suitable. Smooth, glossy external surfaces are not a sensible long-term solution with this material.
Jerusalem Gold or Jerusalem Stone Gold?
Both designations stand in the trade for the same warmly golden dimension stone character from the Jerusalem area. Differences usually lie rather in grading, project context and the specific finish.
What does Jerusalem Stone Gold cost?
The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
