Crytos Extrem is a Brazilian quartzite with a powerfully animated colour composition: a dark anthracite-grey ground, bold red and burgundy veining and light grey-cream accent lines. A high-performance quartzite with a Mohs hardness of 7 and full acid, heat and frost resistance — an exceptionally powerful choice for statement islands and prestige interior surfaces.
Crytos Extrem is a Brazilian quartzite from the extensive metamorphic shield regions of Brazil — the same major geological structure that also yields materials such as Patagonia, Macaubas, Cosmic Black and many other Brazilian premium quartzites.
Geologically it is a crystalline, recrystallised quartzite with distinctive embedded mineralisation zones that produce the exceptionally colour-intense composition. The red and burgundy veins are the result of haematite and manganese oxide mineralisation along former fissures; the light grey-cream flow bands are secondary quartz healing zones.
In the slab, Crytos Extrem shows an exceptionally powerful colour composition: a dark anthracite-grey ground crossed by dramatically branching red and burgundy vein paths as well as light grey-cream accent lines. The veining reads like a geological storm composition — flowing main paths branch into finer secondary lines, with powerful nodal zones and unexpectedly colour-intense accents. A distinctly dramatic material history with clearly legible geological movement.
For the application that means: Crytos Extrem is an exceptional choice for statement islands, prestige vanity tops, wall claddings with a leading-role character and interior architecture in which the material is meant to become a deliberate design accent.
Technically, Crytos Extrem is a high-performance dimension stone with a Mohs hardness of around 7, high compressive strength, low water absorption, full acid resistance, heat resistance and frost resistance.
At ROSSITTIS we currently carry Crytos Extrem as 10 raw slabs in 20 mm thickness with a polished finish. On request we produce kitchen worktops, islands, vanity tops, wall claddings and project-specific custom cuts from it. For book-matched settings we are glad to reserve material directly from the same block on request.
If you want to compare Crytos Extrem with other materials: stylistically close are other Brazilian quartzites with a dramatic colour composition such as Patagonia, Mont Blanc, Dominic Quarz and related premium grades.
Our honest assessment: Crytos Extrem is an exceptional choice for projects that call for a dramatically colour-intense quartzite look. Anyone who needs a calm solid-colour look should reach for monochrome materials.

Finishes
Crytos Extrem is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Poliert
Crytos Extrem is a dense Brazilian quartzite with high compressive strength and full acid, heat and frost resistance.
Daily cleaning: a soft microfibre cloth, warm water and a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.
Do not use: concentrated acids, steel wool.
Sealing: recommended every 18–36 months.
Kitchen worktop: hot pans can be set down directly, steel knives leave no scratches, and wine and lemon leave no etch marks.
Repair: scratches in the polish can be evened out by professional re-polishing.
Frequently asked questions
Where does Crytos Extrem come from?
From Brazilian quartzite deposits — the same region that also yields Patagonia, Macaubas and Cosmic Black.
Is Crytos Extrem suitable for a kitchen?
Yes, excellently. With a Mohs hardness of 7 the quartzite is scratch-resistant, acid-resistant and heat-resistant.
Which finishes are available?
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Is Crytos Extrem suitable for book-matching?
Excellently. The powerfully animated veining delivers dramatic mirror-symmetrical images.
How much material do you currently have in stock?
We currently carry 10 raw slabs of Crytos Extrem in 20 mm thickness.
