About CTX BasicKeramik® ABK Dark

ABK Dark stands for a dark, clear and restrained interior surface without decorative distraction. The surface moves between dark grey and anthracite and lives less on marking than on tonality. This makes the material particularly interesting for projects that want to build depth in a room without resorting to conspicuous stone images or hard black surfaces. It is a quiet, controlled darkness.

As a ceramic porcelain surface, ABK Dark is not porous and is designed for low-maintenance interior applications. Compared with dark natural stone there is no mineral restlessness, no geological variation and none of the acid issues typical of calcareous stones. That makes the surface technically uncomplicated, above all where cleaning is regular or where a precise series appearance is wanted.

Finishes

CTX BasicKeramik® ABK Dark is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Naturale matt

A standard finish in the matte ceramic segment — the original surface as it comes out of the kiln. Level in appearance, but somewhat rougher to the touch than polished. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and stain-resistant — the most everyday-capable ceramic finish for kitchen worktops, wall cladding and floor areas.

Care & fabrication

ABK Dark requires no impregnation. The ceramic surface is dense and designed for low-maintenance interior applications.

For cleaning and care, water, mild cleaning agents and a soft cloth or a clean mop are sufficient. On darker surfaces, limescale and grease traces should be removed regularly so that no streaks arise.

Aggressive specialist chemicals and abrasive agents are not necessary. Gentle, regular cleaning and care is the best solution.

For kitchens and working zones, a good choice of finish remains more important than complicated care. Matt variants usually appear more relaxed there than very glossy versions.
