Brazilian quartzite (a crystalline recrystallised quartzite) from the metamorphic shield areas of Brazil. Characteristic is the exceptionally colour-intensive mineralisation composition with burgundy, anthracite-grey, emerald-green and light grey-creamy areas — the result of secondary mineralisations with iron-, manganese- and chromium-bearing compounds along former fissures. Mohs hardness approx. 7, high compressive strength, low water absorption, fully acid-, heat- and frost-resistant.
Dominic Quarz is a Brazilian quartzite from the extensive metamorphic shield regions of Brazil — the same major geological structure that also yields materials such as Patagonia, Macaubas, Cosmic Black and many other Brazilian premium quartzites. Geologically it is a crystalline, recrystallised quartzite with characteristically embedded mineralisation zones that produce the exceptionally colour-intense look.
The dramatic colour palette of Dominic Quarz is its defining characteristic. In the slab, powerfully mixed colour zones appear: deep anthracite-grey areas alternate with dramatically burgundy-red to mahogany-coloured bands, emerald-green tinted accents and light grey-creamy-white flow paths. The veining looks dynamically swirled, almost like a geological storm composition — every slab is a unique section through the original block. This colour intensity is the result of secondary mineralisation with iron-, manganese- and chromium-bearing compounds along the former fissure geometry.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish for quartzite — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced sense of depth. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be satin-gloss in places. As a silicate rock it is fully acid-resistant and scratch-hard — ideal for kitchen worktops and feature surfaces.
Satin-honed
The surface is brushed — softer minerals are removed in a targeted way, creating a slight depth and a matt appearance. Veined quartzites gain a special character in this way. Acid-resistant and scratch-resistant, easy to care for in daily use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.
Care & fabrication
Dominic Quarz is a dense Brazilian quartzite with high compressive strength and full acid and heat resistance.
Daily cleaning: a soft microfibre cloth, warm water and a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.
Do not use: concentrated acids, steel wool, coarse scouring pads.
Sealing: on polished surfaces, recommended every 18–36 months depending on the loading. On this colour-intense tonality, sealing is important in order to avoid oil saturation marks.
Kitchen worktop: hot pans can be set down directly. Steel knives leave no scratches. Wine and lemon leave no etch marks.
Repair: scratches in the polish can be evened out by professional re-polishing.
