Itagreen

Itagreen is a green Brazilian hard stone with lively movement, petrographically in the migmatitic range and carried in the trade as a granite. At ROSSITTIS we supply it as a raw slab for striking kitchens, walls and made-to-measure interior fit-outs.

About Itagreen

Itagreen is not a quiet green stone but a material with direction, movement and depth. The image works with differing green tones, darker passages and lighter vein or banding zones. Depending on the slab, the effect can range from a calm olive green to distinctly more dramatic. That is exactly why Itagreen is readily used where a surface is not merely meant to be a background but is allowed to build character. Compared with compact green marbles the stone appears harder and more mineral; compared with wild Brazilian exotics it usually remains easier to control.

Finishes

Itagreen is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.

Care & fabrication

After installation, Itagreen should be sealed on worktops and interior surfaces so that water, oil and coloured liquids adhere less readily. A good sealer makes upkeep noticeably easier.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths are sufficient. Polished green surfaces in particular look calmer when limescale residues, grease and fingerprints are removed regularly.

Avoid aggressive descalers, harsh abrasives and strongly film-forming care products. Even a hard green granite is easier to clean and care for when the surface is not loaded unnecessarily.

On kitchen and table surfaces, clean and care for the stone regularly, do not leave dyes and oils standing for long, and refresh the sealer at sensible intervals. That keeps the green depth of the material clearly legible.

Frequently asked questions

Is Itagreen suitable for a kitchen?

Yes. Itagreen is carried in the trade as a green granite and is therefore considerably more robust and more tolerant in everyday use than many green marbles. For made-to-measure kitchen tops that is very interesting.

Which finishes are available for Itagreen?

The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Itagreen come from?

Itagreen comes from Brazil. Brazilian green hard stones of this kind are used above all for exclusive worktops and strong interior fit-outs.

How do I clean Itagreen correctly?

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths are enough. Oil, limescale and dyes should not be left standing on the material surface for long.

Is Itagreen really a granite?

Geologically, Itagreen lies in the migmatitic range. In the natural stone trade the material is carried as a granite because of its technical properties and the way it is used in practice.

Itagreen or green marble?

Itagreen is harder and easier to care for than green marble. Marble often looks softer and more classical, Itagreen by contrast harder, more mineral and more suited to everyday use.

What does Itagreen cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
