About Labradorite Blue River
Labradorite Blue River is not a stone for supporting roles. The underlying mood is deep blue, over which iridescent crystal faces lay themselves with reflections in blue, green, gold and in part violet flashes. Depending on the incidence of light the effect changes considerably, so that the stone appears almost like a living material. For kitchen islands, tables, bars, wall panels and exclusive bathroom applications this is unambiguously a statement slab. Compared with calm dark granites, Blue River is more spectacular; compared with decorative marbles, however, it is markedly more mineral and harder.
The stone comes from Madagascar, from the Ihosy area in the Ihorombe region, and is traded on the market as a granite or labradorite granite. What is decisive here is not only the geological classification but the way in which the stone is used: as an exclusive hard stone for high-quality interior fit-outs with a strong play of colour and light. Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.
Care & fabrication
Labradorite Blue River should be sealed on worktops and tables, so that water, oil and coloured liquids adhere less readily. On dark and strongly reflective surfaces in particular, this pays off in everyday use.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths are sufficient. On polished surfaces, limescale, grease and fingerprints should be removed regularly, so that the iridescence stays clear.
Avoid strongly film-building care products, aggressive descalers and abrasive pads. A highly decorative hard stone is easier to clean and care for when the surface is not unnecessarily burdened.
