LAMINAM Ardesia Nero is a deep dark porcelain slab in a slate look with a matt, mineral effect. At ROSSITTIS the material is suited to kitchens, bathrooms, wall surfaces, floors and selected façades wherever a black surface with as little care effort as possible is wanted.

About LAMINAM® Ardesia Nero
Ardesia Nero lives from its restraint. The slab is dark, almost black, but not empty or dead. Through its slate-like structure the surface acquires a dry, mineral depth that appears considerably calmer than high-gloss black stone. That is precisely why it works so well in modern kitchens, bathrooms, stairwells and reduced interior fit-outs. Anyone looking for a black surface with material character, but without a reflective luxury look, is closer to the target here than with polished black granite.
The material is ceramic and is not quarried. Technically, Ardesia Nero belongs to the world of large-format porcelain stoneware, or porcelain slabs. For planning this means very low porosity, high ease of cleaning and an even, repeatable surface. The design reference is slate, but its behaviour in everyday use is clearly ceramic.
In use, Ardesia Nero plays to its strengths precisely where dark natural stones often become more demanding. The surface is not acid-sensitive like black marble, reacts less critically to moisture and is considerably more relaxed for kitchens, bathrooms and intensively used interiors. Added to this are heat, UV, frost and chemical resistance, which widens the field of use compared with many real slates or marbles. For large dark surfaces this predictability is a real advantage.
The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down. At ROSSITTIS, LAMINAM Ardesia Nero is available as a large-format slab for kitchen worktops, splashbacks, floors, wall claddings, washstands, furniture fronts and selected façade or external applications. As an alternative to real slate the surface is more technical and more homogeneous, but less sensitive to everyday influences.
The honest assessment: Ardesia Nero is ideal if you like the expression of dark slate but do not want a naturally cleaved, bedding-bound material with all its idiosyncrasies. Anyone looking for real cleaving structure, layering and geological one-off character should reach for natural stone. Anyone needing a dark, clean and robust design surface is very well served here.

Finishes
LAMINAM® Ardesia Nero is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
A spacco spaltrau
Ardesia Nero does not normally need to be sealed. The ceramic surface is very dense and therefore considerably easier to care for than real slate or black marble.
For cleaning and care, a neutral cleaner, water and a soft cloth are sufficient. On black matt surfaces, limescale, soap residues and grease films should be removed regularly so that no light streaks remain.
Avoid hard blows to edges and cut-outs, as well as strongly abrasive pads on finished surfaces. With large-format ceramic slabs it is not the surface itself but above all the narrow edges that are the more sensitive points.
For external applications the rule is as always: clean installation, good drainage and a suitable construction matter more than special care products.
Frequently asked questions
Is LAMINAM Ardesia Nero suitable for the kitchen?
Yes. In the kitchen in particular the ceramic surface plays to its advantages: low porosity, high ease of cleaning and none of the classic acid sensitivity found with marble.
Which surfaces suit Ardesia Nero?
The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Is Ardesia Nero real slate?
No. Ardesia Nero is a ceramic or porcelain-based large-format slab in a slate look and not a cleaved natural slate material.
Where can Ardesia Nero be used?
Typical uses are kitchen worktops, splashbacks, bathroom surfaces, floors, wall claddings, furniture fronts and selected façade or external surfaces.
How do I care for LAMINAM Ardesia Nero?
Neutral cleaners and a soft cloth are sufficient for cleaning and care. Sealing is not usually necessary.
Ardesia Nero or real slate?
Real slate is more natural, more lively and often more appealing in craft terms. Ardesia Nero is more homogeneous, easier to care for and in large formats usually easier to plan consistently.
