About Paonazetto
Paonazetto belongs to the family of light Carrara marbles, which despite a similar underlying mood can appear very differently. Typical is a white to off-white ground with pronounced veining, in part linear, in part restless. This makes the material appear more lively than a simple Bianco Carrara, but less massive than some dramatic Calacatta varieties. The stone comes from Italy, from the Massa Carrara region in Tuscany. There it is traded under various designations within the Paonazzo and Pavonazzetto sphere. The material therefore stands in a marble lineage rich in tradition that has long been used in high-end interior fit-out, in bathrooms, wall claddings and stairs.
Technically, Paonazetto is a typical marble with solid values. The bulk density lies at around 2,710 kg/m³, the water absorption at about 0.20 %, the compressive strength in the region of around 80 to 89 MPa and the flexural strength at about 11 MPa. The stone is therefore well suited to high-quality internal applications, but remains acid-sensitive and demands a realistic expectation of care and signs of use on surfaces in daily service.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.
Care & fabrication
You should clean and care for Paonazetto gently, because as a marble the surface is acid-sensitive. For bathrooms, tables and kitchen applications a good sealing treatment is sensible. Clean the stone with pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths. You should avoid vinegar, citric acid, descalers and scouring agents.
