About Sardo CH
Sardo CH is a classic Chinese white granite with a salt-and-pepper character — one of the most widely installed Chinese granite selections on the European market. It is characterised by a light white to pale grey base colour of white plagioclase and transparent quartz, interspersed with fine black biotite and hornblende speckles. The appearance of the slab is medium-grained and evenly figured throughout, without pronounced veins or movement patterns — very flexible in planning terms and with a classic high-contrast salt-and-pepper look. Geologically, Sardo CH is a classic magmatic granite from the south-east Chinese granite province of Fujian — the most important granite-producing region in China. Mineralogically, white plagioclase and transparent quartz dominate as the main constituents, supplemented by biotite and in part hornblende as accent minerals. On the market the material is also traded under designations such as G623 or Sardo China.
The technical values place Sardo CH clearly in the class of robust hard rocks: high compressive strength, low water absorption well below 0.5 percent, frost-resistant according to DIN EN 12371, acid-resistant within the normal range of application. That makes the material suitable without restriction for demanding exterior and interior applications — including in Central European climate zones with hard winters and de-icing salt loading. Compared with classic Italian Sardo granites from Sardinia (Sardo Bianco, Sardo Beige), Sardo CH is more even and has a tendentially lighter, cooler grey tone.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.
Honed C120
A matt appearance created by coarse honing with C120 grit — the level surface shows a more restrained colour intensity than polished and can carry visible honing marks. Compared with a polish it is more maintenance-intensive but stylistically calmer; the preferred choice for modern interior architecture with reduced reflection.
Flamed + brushed once
The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. The standard choice for outdoor areas, terraces and heavily used floor areas.
Care & fabrication
As a Chinese granite, Sardo CH can be maintained over the long term and cleaned without difficulty. For kitchen worktops and exterior paving we recommend an impregnation on a silane or polysiloxane basis. Daily cleaning with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid strongly alkaline intensive cleaners, acidic agents and abrasive pads. Outdoors it is frost-resistant and tolerant of de-icing salt. Refresh the impregnation every three to five years.
