Amazon Star is a blue-grey Brazilian granite with strong, mineral movement and very good external performance. At ROSSITTIS it is used for floors, stairs, facades and worktops, wherever a load-bearing stone with expressive colour is called for.

About Amazon Star
Amazon Star is one of those Brazilian granites that perform strongly both visually and technically. Its colouring often lies in a spectrum of grey, blue, darker mineral zones and lively movement, without slipping into pure exoticism. This makes the stone read as striking while remaining suitable for architecture. For stairs, facades, floors and kitchens in particular, that is a very interesting profile.
The stone comes from Brazil and is listed as a granite. Compared with calmer granites, Amazon Star reads as livelier; against some exotic quartzites, however, markedly more technical and more load-bearing. The combination of a bluish effect and high resistance makes it equally attractive for internal and external projects. It works both as a design stone and as a robust material.
Technically, Amazon Star is very convincing: around 2,690 kg/m³ bulk density, only about 0.08 % water absorption, approximately 129.0 MPa compressive strength and around 15.4 MPa flexural strength. Frost resistance and acid resistance are documented. The stone is therefore markedly better suited than calcareous materials to heavily loaded floors, external paving, facades and other problematic areas. In the German-speaking climate in particular, that is a clear advantage.
The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page. At ROSSITTIS, Amazon Star is available as a raw slab, as tiles, as treads and risers, window sills, skirtings, external paving, kitchen worktops and for other internal and external projects.
The frank assessment: Amazon Star is not a restrained standard granite. Its strength lies in the combination of colour, technical hardness and genuine competence outdoors. Where the project needs precisely that mixture, the stone is very convincing.

Technical data
Guide values for the stone type, taken from manufacturer and test reports. Natural stone is a natural product — individual batches and slabs can differ. For critical applications, request slab-specific test data.
Amazon Star is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Poliert
Amazon Star is easy to look after, but should nevertheless be sealed on kitchen and bathroom surfaces. That makes cleaning and care easier and reduces limescale or grease films.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, a soft cloth and regular dry wiping are sufficient. Acid resistance is given; aggressive chemistry nevertheless remains unnecessary.
On darker and lively surfaces, soap residues or limescale rings are less conspicuous than on homogeneous black tones, but should nevertheless be removed regularly.
Outdoors, the appropriate finish, proper drainage and a clean substructure matter more than special care. Slip-resistant textured finishes are particularly sensible there.
Frequently asked questions
Is Amazon Star suitable for a kitchen?
Yes, very much so. At around 2,690 kg/m³ bulk density, only about 0.08 % water absorption, approximately 129.0 MPa compressive strength and documented acid resistance, Amazon Star is a very load-bearing kitchen stone.
What finishes are available in Amazon Star?
The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Where does Amazon Star come from?
Amazon Star comes from Brazil, where it is one of the colourful, technically very load-bearing granites.
How do I clean Amazon Star correctly?
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and regular maintenance cleaning are sufficient. A sealer is sensible on kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
Is Amazon Star frost-resistant?
Yes. Amazon Star is regarded as frost-resistant and is therefore very well suited to external surfaces, steps and facades.
Amazon Star or Amazon Flower?
Amazon Star is positioned even more clearly as an external stone in technical terms and often reads as somewhat more matter-of-fact. Amazon Flower frequently appears more decorative and more strongly geared to internal effect.
