About Billiemi MG

Billiemi MG works through grey with lively veining and a clear direction of movement. As a Turkish limestone, the material appeals to specifiers, stonemasons and clients who are not looking for an arbitrary stone but for a clearly legible slab image with an identity of its own. At ROSSITTIS we carry Billiemi MG for interior fit-outs, bathrooms, stairs, wall surfaces and, depending on the character of the material, also for worktops or heavily used circulation areas.

Billiemi MG comes from Turkey and is traded on the market as a limestone. Depending on block, selection and finish, the material can turn out markedly calmer or more expressive. That is precisely why selection should always be made from real slab images. Compared with a more neutral standard limestone, Billiemi MG reads as more distinctive and architecturally more pronounced.

Finishes

Billiemi MG is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.

Satin-honed

The surface is brushed — softer minerals are selectively removed, creating a subtle depth and a matte appearance. Strongly veined limestones in particular gain a characterful look and feel this way. The more matte finish conceals small etch marks better than a polish and stands up better to everyday use on heavily used interior surfaces.

Care & fabrication

Billiemi MG should be sealed, cleaned regularly with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and re-treated at sensible intervals depending on use. Calcareous rocks react sensitively to acids such as lemon juice, vinegar, wine or descalers. For daily care, soft microfibre cloths, clear water and a suitable stone care product on a natural stone basis are sufficient.
