About Classique Brown

Classique Brown is a Turkish limestone. With its extensive Anatolian carbonate sediments, Turkey is one of the world's most productive limestone exporters — from light cream-beige selections through to dramatically dark mocha and anthracite variants.

Geologically it is a classic carbonate limestone with a warm dark tonality that arises from organic-bituminous and iron-bearing pigmentation in the carbonate ground. The mocha brown character is typical of dark Anatolian platform limestones.

Finishes

Classique Brown is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Classique Brown is a carbonate limestone and reacts acid-sensitively. Mohs hardness around 3.

Daily cleaning: soft microfibre cloth, clear water and a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.

Do not use: acidic cleaners, descalers, abrasives.

Sealing: directly after installation and, depending on exposure, advisable every 12–18 months. Particularly important on the dark tonality.

Kitchen worktop: not the first choice. Acidic splashes leave etch marks.

Repair: etch marks and scratches can be evened out by professional re-polishing.
