About Classique Brown
Classique Brown is a Turkish limestone. With its extensive Anatolian carbonate sediments, Turkey is one of the world's most productive limestone exporters — from light cream-beige selections through to dramatically dark mocha and anthracite variants.
Geologically it is a classic carbonate limestone with a warm dark tonality that arises from organic-bituminous and iron-bearing pigmentation in the carbonate ground. The mocha brown character is typical of dark Anatolian platform limestones.
In the slab image, Classique Brown shows a base tone mixing warm mocha brown and anthracite with a powerful, finely branching light vein network. The veining appears elegantly flowing — fine light main veins branch into finer accompanying lines, with occasional more powerful nodal zones. An atmospherically luxurious, almost dramatic composition with a classic Mediterranean natural stone character.
For the application this means: Classique Brown is a decidedly elegant choice for prestige wall claddings, vanity tops, bar counters, table surfaces and interior areas with a luxuriously dark aspiration. Combined with warm wood, brass, bronze and muted earth tones, the material develops an atmospherically luxurious effect.
Technically, Classique Brown is, like all carbonate limestones, acid-sensitive (Mohs hardness around 3) and needs a corresponding care awareness. On the dark tonality, saturation marks are visible as lighter areas — consistent sealing is therefore important.
At ROSSITTIS we currently carry Classique Brown as 11 raw slabs in 30 mm thickness with a polished surface.
For anyone comparing Classique Brown with other materials: stylistically close are other dark Anatolian limestones such as Emperador Light Turco (lighter, less dramatic), Levanto limestones, Cappuccino marble and some Spanish dark carbonate dimension stones. Anyone who needs the same image robust and acid-proof should look towards porcelain with a dark natural stone look.
Our honest assessment: Classique Brown is an elegant choice for luxurious wall and vanity top applications with a dramatic dark atmosphere. Anyone who needs maximum acid resistance for intensive kitchen use should turn to porcelain.

Finishes
Classique Brown is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Poliert
Classique Brown is a carbonate limestone and reacts acid-sensitively. Mohs hardness around 3.
Daily cleaning: soft microfibre cloth, clear water and a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner.
Do not use: acidic cleaners, descalers, abrasives.
Sealing: directly after installation and, depending on exposure, advisable every 12–18 months. Particularly important on the dark tonality.
Kitchen worktop: not the first choice. Acidic splashes leave etch marks.
Repair: etch marks and scratches can be evened out by professional re-polishing.

Which thicknesses are available?
In ROSSITTIS stock we carry 30 mm thickness with a polished surface.
Classique Brown or Emperador Cream Turco?
Emperador Cream Turco is a lighter creamy brownish; Classique Brown is considerably darker with a powerful mocha-anthracite tonality. Which choice fits depends on the desired depth effect.
