Illusion is a pale limestone from Turkey. The surface reads as calm, finely structured and architectural — with discreet colour transitions between cream, beige and lighter grey tones and an occasionally translucent, finely drawn veining. This makes the stone very well suited to floors, wall claddings, stairs and window sills in projects looking for a calm, pale dimension stone with a Mediterranean character.
The stone comes from Turkey and belongs to the segment of pale Turkish limestones that have been quarried for architecture and interior fit-out for years. An important distinction: the trade name Illusion is also used internationally by other suppliers (among them Just Naturstein) for different materials — at ROSSITTIS, Illusion consistently denotes this Turkish limestone.
Technically, Illusion sits within the classic profile of dense Turkish limestones: bulk densities typically 2,600–2,750 kg/m³, water absorption usually in the range of 0.3–1.0 %, compressive strength 80–160 MPa. Important for planning: as a limestone, Illusion remains acid-sensitive — citrus, vinegar, wine and limescale-dissolving cleaners can leave matt etch marks. For wall surfaces, floors and stairs this is well manageable; on kitchen worktops the care routine typical of limestone has to be allowed for.
The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page. At ROSSITTIS, Illusion is available as a raw slab, as tiles, as treads and risers, window sills, skirtings, wall cladding and for bespoke internal components.
The frank assessment: Illusion is not a maintenance-free hard rock. Its strength lies in a calm, pale limestone effect with the character of a working dimension stone. Anyone looking for precisely that gets one of the classic pale Turkish limestones.

Illusion is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
As a Turkish limestone, Illusion should be sealed carefully on floors, stairs and in wet areas. That makes cleaning and care easier and reduces the penetration of water, soap and coloured liquids.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, clear water and soft cloths are suitable. Acidic cleaners, descalers, vinegar and citrus products are unsuitable for limestone and leave matt etched patches.
In kitchens and bathrooms, coffee, wine, citrus and oily foods should not be allowed to dry on. Gentle, regular cleaning and care is the best strategy with limestone.
For internal floors, wall surfaces and stairs, Illusion stays permanently attractive with consistent care. For permanently polished external surfaces it is not a safe choice.
Rossittis Illusion is a Turkish limestone — not to be confused with the trade material of the same name from other suppliers, which is in part listed as a granite or rhyolite.
From Turkey. The stone is one of the classic pale Turkish limestones traded internationally for architecture and interior fit-out.
Only with the care typical of limestone. The stone is dense, but it remains acid-sensitive. For carefree kitchen surfaces, granite or quartzite are the more straightforward options.

Sheltered external details work well, but permanently polished external surfaces are not a safe choice. For weathered surfaces, matt finishes and good drainage are important.
For cleaning and care, use only pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and soft cloths. Acidic cleaners, vinegar and citrus solutions are unsuitable for this limestone.
