CTX BasicKeramik ABK Essence Avana is an Italian porcelain surface in a warm timber tone with a realistic plank look. At ROSSITTIS we stock it for floors, feature walls, bathrooms and interiors in which timber character with ceramic robustness is called for.
Essence Avana is not a stone look but deliberately a warm timber interpretation in a ceramic large format. The tone moves between avana, beige, brown and warm natural timber and takes up the effect of aged or reused boards. It is precisely the fine irregularities, cracks and traces of texture that make up the appeal of the material. This makes the surface appear markedly more homely than grey ceramics and at the same time more precise than real timber in wet or commercial areas.
As an Italian porcelain surface, Essence Avana combines the character of timber with the advantages of ceramic technology. The material is non-porous, easy to care for, insensitive to heat and scratching and markedly less complicated for wet rooms than real timber boards. In bathrooms, kitchens and hospitality-oriented interior fit-out in particular this is a strong argument. The timber look is retained without swelling, warping or a sensitive surface coating having to be allowed for.
In use, Essence Avana convinces on floors, feature walls, bathroom surfaces, kitchen zones and calm interiors in which warmth is to be built up. The plank appearance works particularly well with natural textiles, lime render, dark metal and sandy colours. At ROSSITTIS, CTX BasicKeramik ABK Essence Avana is available as a raw slab, tile, floor covering, wall cladding, splashback, bathroom cladding and for other bespoke internal components.
Compared with real timber, the surface is more robust and easier to care for. Against cooler stone-look ceramics it brings markedly more homeliness into the room. It is precisely for this reason that it is less a neutral background than an atmospheric carrier of surfaces.
The frank assessment: Essence Avana does not replace the feel of solid timber boards. But where a warm timber look with ceramic suitability for interiors is sought, the material makes a great deal of sense and is thoroughly coherent.

CTX BasicKeramik® ABK Essence Avana is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Naturale matt
A standard finish in the matte ceramic segment — the original surface as it comes out of the kiln. Level in appearance, but somewhat rougher to the touch than polished. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and stain-resistant — the most everyday-capable ceramic finish for kitchen worktops, wall cladding and floor areas.
Care & fabrication
Essence Avana needs no sealing. The ceramic surface is dense, suitable for wet rooms and designed for easy-care internal applications.
For cleaning and care, water, mild cleaners and a soft cloth or a clean mop are sufficient. Unlike real timber, the surface needs no oiling or elaborate aftercare.
Abrasive cleaners and aggressive special chemicals are not needed. Regular, gentle cleaning and care is entirely sufficient in everyday use.
For floor surfaces, the appropriate choice of finish remains important. A matt or naturally appearing version usually supports the timber look better than a strong gloss.
Frequently asked questions
Is CTX BasicKeramik ABK Essence Avana suitable for a bathroom?
Yes. The ceramic timber look is very well suited to bathrooms, kitchens and other wet rooms.
What finishes are available in Essence Avana?
The finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Where does CTX BasicKeramik ABK Essence Avana come from?
The material is listed as an Italian ceramic from the ABK sphere.
How do I clean Essence Avana?
For cleaning and care, water, mild cleaners and a soft cloth are sufficient. Sealing or oiling is not needed.
Can Essence Avana replace real timber?
Visually yes, and technically in many internal areas as well. In terms of feel, a real timber floor naturally remains more distinctive.
Essence Avana or real boards?
Essence Avana is more suitable for wet rooms, easier to care for and more dimensionally stable. Real boards appear more natural and livelier, but demand more maintenance.

The price depends on the format, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
