About Flamingo Red

Flamingo Red is a striking red marble in warm pink and red tones, run through with white and grey lines. The material is considerably more decorative than many beige or grey marbles and lives from its colour. In bathrooms, wall surfaces, counters, stairs and selected floors this becomes interesting wherever a stone with character is called for and the design is allowed to be deliberately colourful. The effect is warm, lively and distinctly prestigious.

The stone comes from Rajasthan in India and belongs to the group of decorative interior marbles. Individual technical values are not documented here in the same depth as for DNSA-documented materials; typical for marble, however, are a bulk density in the region of 2,700 kg/m³, a calcareous composition and therefore a marked sensitivity to acid. It is precisely for this reason that Flamingo Red should be understood above all as a high-quality interior stone, not as an uncritical functional surface for every situation.

Finishes

Flamingo Red is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.

Care & fabrication

As a marble, Flamingo Red should be carefully protected with a suitable natural stone sealer. This reduces staining, but it does not make the stone insensitive to acids.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are suitable. Coffee, wine, lemon juice, vinegar, oil and strongly coloured residues should not be left to act for long.

Avoid acidic cleaners, descalers and abrasive household products. Strongly coloured polished marbles in particular show mistreatment quickly.

For surfaces that stay beautiful in the long term: clean and care for them regularly, check the sealer and avoid chemically aggressive everyday loads.

Frequently asked questions

Is Flamingo Red suitable for the kitchen?

Only with restrictions. As a marble, Flamingo Red is sensitive to acid and therefore not the most trouble-free stone for heavily used kitchens.

Which finishes are available for Flamingo Red?

The surface finishes currently in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Flamingo Red come from?

Flamingo Red comes from Rajasthan in India.

How do I clean Flamingo Red correctly?

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths should be used. Acids and abrasive cleaners are to be avoided.

Is Flamingo Red frost-resistant?

Its strengths lie clearly indoors. For permanently exposed external applications, this coloured marble is markedly less the first choice.

Flamingo Red or Rosso Verona?

Flamingo Red appears stronger, more colourful and higher in contrast. Rosso Verona is usually earthier and more classical in effect.

What does Flamingo Red cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
