GEOLUXE® Dionysos Pyrolithic is a large-format porcelain slab from the Asian premium manufacturer GEOLUXE with a bright marble feel and calm, finely flowing cloud and stripe structures. In design terms the slab quotes the classic Dionysos marble from the Pentelikon mountains in Greece and is laid out for a calm, almost textile-fine brightness. At ROSSITTIS we work it into heat- and acid-resistant kitchen worktops, vanity units, wall cladding, furniture tops and made-to-measure interior and exterior components including façades.

About GEOLUXE® Dionysos Pyrolithic

Background. GEOLUXE® is an Asian premium brand for large-format porcelain slabs (sintered stone), produced by the Philippine Wing Tai group. Unlike the European market leaders Laminam (Italy), Neolith (Spain), Dekton (Spain/Cosentino) and SapienStone (Italy), GEOLUXE has positioned itself since its market launch in 2018 above all through the design depth of the slab look and through the format. The brand markets its slabs under the term “Pyrolithic Stone” – its own marketing designation for high-temperature-sintered mineral slabs based on natural clays, feldspar aggregates and mineral pigments.

Care & fabrication

Cleaning. In everyday use, warm water, a soft cloth or a clean mop and a neutral to mildly alkaline pH cleaner are sufficient. Mild all-purpose cleaners, mild washing-up foam and all commercially available sanitary and kitchen cleaners without hydrofluoric acid (HF) are suitable. The porcelain is almost completely acid-resistant – even vinegar, citric and hydrochloric acid practically do not attack the slab. Take up spills promptly, because on the bright surface shadows are visually apparent at once; the material itself, however, is pore-free and therefore stain-proof.

Do not use. Hydrofluoric acid (HF) and fluoride-containing cleaners are the only class of substance that can genuinely attack porcelain – they occur practically only in industrial glass and stone cleaners and are not relevant in the household. Even though the slab is hard: steel wool and strongly abrasive pads can cause the finest dulling on the polished variant.

Sealing. Not required – porcelain is dense and pore-free in itself, and water absorption is below 0.1 %. A sealer would tend to show up on the surface as a veil and is superfluous.

Kitchen. In kitchen use, Dionysos Pyrolithic is technically almost unbeatable: hot pots can be set down directly for a short time (the slab is unaffected well beyond 200 °C), acids such as vinegar, wine, lemon and tomato leave no traces, and the polyester-resin trouble with cut marks does not arise, because there is no polyester resin. Even so, we recommend chopping boards (knife blades blunt more quickly on the hard slab) and trivets when cooking as standard practice.

Bathroom. In the bathroom the slab is fully usable as a vanity unit, wall cladding, bath surround and shower. Anti-limescale sprays and all commercially available sanitary cleaners are approved. In the shower area, wipe off standing water promptly so that a limescale film does not build up – on the bright slab, limescale rings are visible as lighter shadows.

Outdoors and frost. Fully suitable. The slab is UV-stable, frost- and weather-resistant and can be used as a back-ventilated façade panel, external wall cladding, pool surround and outdoor kitchen worktop. The surface finishes currently in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.

Scratches and repair. Porcelain is very hard (around Mohs 7) and therefore considerably more scratch-resistant than most natural materials. Deeper damage cannot simply be re-polished – repair is carried out by replacing the affected workpiece. Particular care with edges and cut-outs is therefore required during fabrication; mitre joints should be executed by experienced specialist firms with special adhesive and precise workshop preparation.

What kind of material is GEOLUXE® Dionysos Pyrolithic?

It is a large-format porcelain slab (sintered stone) from the Philippine premium brand GEOLUXE. Mineral raw materials (feldspar, quartz, clay minerals, pigments) are compacted without polymer binders in a pressing process and sintered at over 1,200 °C in a tunnel kiln. “Pyrolithic Stone” is GEOLUXE's own marketing designation for this material class.

What does the name “Dionysos” refer to?

The name refers to the world-famous Dionysos Pentelikon marble from the Pentelikon mountains north-east of Athens – a white calcite marble with calm light-grey cloud bands, used since antiquity for the Acropolis and for classical sculpture. The GEOLUXE slab quotes its calm, finely flowing look in industrial porcelain.

How does porcelain differ from engineered quartz (Caesarstone, Silestone)?

Engineered quartz contains roughly 7–10 % polyester resin as a binder; porcelain is entirely mineral with no resin content. This gives porcelain three important advantages: higher heat resistance (hot pots can be set down directly), full UV resistance (suitable for external use) and almost complete acid resistance. Engineered quartz, on the other hand, remains warmer to the touch and less brittle at the edge joint.

What slab formats and thicknesses does GEOLUXE offer?

Standard formats are around 320 × 160 cm and 160 × 80 cm, in thicknesses of 6, 12, 20 and 30 mm. For kitchen worktops and bar counters 12 or 20 mm is standard, frequently with a mitred edge joint for a visibly thicker look. For wall cladding and façades the thinner thicknesses (6–12 mm) are established.

Is Dionysos Pyrolithic suitable for kitchen worktops?

Yes – without restriction. Acids (wine, lemon, tomato, vinegar) leave no traces, hot pots can be set down directly for a short time (tolerant above 200 °C), the slab is pore-free and very scratch-resistant. Chopping boards are nevertheless sensible – knife blades blunt more quickly on the hard slab.

Is the slab suitable for external surfaces, façades and pool surrounds?

Yes – that is one of the central advantages over engineered quartz. Porcelain is UV-stable, frost- and weather-resistant and can be used as a back-ventilated façade panel, external wall cladding, pool surround and outdoor kitchen worktop. On external surfaces we recommend the honed or satin-honed variant.

Which cleaners may I use?
