Travertine from Italy

Giallo Noce

Giallo Noce is an Italian yellow, walnut-coloured travertine with the typical pore and banded structure. ROSSITTIS carries it for floors, stairs and wall surfaces where a warm travertine in a Noce tone is called for.

About Giallo Noce

Giallo Noce works with warm tones between golden yellow, honey, walnut brown and a light beige. Added to that are the bands, pores and softly running structures typical of travertine. That is precisely what gives the stone its classic Italian aura. In floors, stairs, bathrooms, wall surfaces and Mediterranean-minded interiors this works very well wherever a warm stone colour with an openly recognisable travertine character is called for.

The stone comes from the Valle Pilella region near Rome in Lazio and belongs to the Italian travertine world. Technically, the bulk density is around 2,435 kg/m³, the compressive strength around 111 to 113 MPa, the flexural strength around 14.3 MPa and the water absorption around 0.73 per cent. That is solid for a travertine, but at the same time it shows clearly that the stone is more porous and more care-intensive than dense granite or quartzite. As a calcareous stone, Giallo Noce also remains sensitive to acid.

Finishes

Giallo Noce is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

As a travertine, Giallo Noce should be carefully sealed, particularly on floors, stairs, worktops and bathroom surfaces. The more open structure and the water absorption of around 0.73 per cent make that protection important.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are suitable. Coffee, wine, oil, limescale and soap residues should be removed regularly.

Avoid acidic cleaners, descalers and abrasive products. With travertine in particular, etch marks, stains and dull patches can otherwise become visible quickly.

For surfaces that stay beautiful in the long term: clean and care for them regularly, check the sealer and treat porous or textured surfaces with particular care.

Frequently asked questions

Is Giallo Noce suitable for the kitchen?

Only with restrictions. As a travertine, Giallo Noce is more porous and more sensitive to acid than granite or quartzite and demands careful care.

Which finishes are available for Giallo Noce?

The surface finishes currently in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Giallo Noce come from?

The stone comes from the Valle Pilella region near Rome in Lazio in Italy.

How do I clean Giallo Noce correctly?

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths should be used. Acidic cleaners and descalers are to be avoided.

Is Giallo Noce frost-resistant?

Travertine can be used outdoors, but because of its porosity and water absorption it demands careful planning of the finish, the filling and the build-up.

Giallo Noce or Travertin Classico?

Giallo Noce appears darker, more golden and nuttier. Travertin Classico is paler and more classically beige in its basic effect.
