About LAMINAM® Pietra di Savoia Grigia

Pietra di Savoia Grigia is one of those ceramic surfaces that deliberately do not want to be loud. The material plays with muted grey tones, a slightly cloudy movement and a feel that recalls a finely worked dimension stone. The colour appears urban, sober and highly architectural. In projects with clear lines, large formats and a restrained material palette in particular, this tone works outstandingly well.

The slab is manufactured in Italy as a densified porcelain or porcelain stoneware. The name quotes a stone-like tradition, but the material behaviour is clearly ceramic. For planners this is often an advantage: they get a very even, reproducible surface without the variation, open porosity or acid sensitivity of many natural stones. Anyone looking for a grey stone effect but not wanting to take on the care characteristics of limestone or marble quickly ends up in precisely this segment.

Bocciardato gestockt

Inspiriert von der gestockten Oberfläche von Naturstein — die Fläche wirkt körnig und weist durch die gebrannte Keramikoberfläche eine subtile Rauigkeit auf. Durch den Brand bleibt die Oberfläche geschlossen und pflegeleicht. Rutschhemmend — für stark beanspruchte Bodenflächen und Außenbereiche mit hoher Trittsicherheit.

Care & fabrication

Pietra di Savoia Grigia normally does not need to be sealed. The very low water absorption makes the material markedly easier to care for than many genuine grey natural stones.

For cleaning and care, neutral cleaners, warm water and a soft cloth or mopping system are recommended. On matt grey surfaces, limescale, soap residues and construction dirt should not be allowed to dry on, because they disturb the calm look.

Avoid coarse abrasives on finished surfaces and protect corners and cut-outs against impact loads. As with almost all large-format ceramics, the more sensitive zones are at the edges rather than on the face.

Outdoors, a proper construction is more important than special chemical care. Good drainage, a suitable substructure and clean installation decide more than any cleaning agent.

Yes. With around 50 MPa flexural strength and only about 0.1 % water absorption, the slab is technically very well suited to kitchen worktops and splashbacks.

Yes, the material is frost-resistant and fundamentally suitable for applications close to the outside. What remains decisive, however, is clean structural planning.
