About Lumix Extra

Lumix Extra stands for an even lighter, calmer appearance within the Lumix family. The ground colour lies between white, ivory and a very light grey; the structure is crystalline but controlled. This makes the stone appear lighter and more selected than the standard Lumix and suits it well to projects in which as much brightness as possible is wanted.

The stone comes from Brazil and is traded as a quartzite. Unlike a light marble, Lumix Extra offers the robustness typical of quartzite together with a very elegant appearance. In kitchens in particular this combination is relevant, because light natural stone images are often associated only with marble, whose everyday performance is limited.

Finishes

Lumix Extra is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for quartzite — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced sense of depth. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be satin-gloss in places. As a silicate rock it is fully acid-resistant and scratch-hard — ideal for kitchen worktops and feature surfaces.

Care & fabrication

Lumix Extra too should be well sealed in kitchens and wet rooms. For cleaning and care, neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft cloth are suitable. On the very light surface, coffee, oil, limescale and metal abrasion should be removed promptly. Avoid strong scouring pads and pay attention to clean edge fabrication.
