About Marcenia Gris

Marcenia Gris comes from Spain and belongs to the family of sedimentary limestones with an even, fine-grained structure. The name “Gris” (Spanish for grey) describes the dominant colouring: a calm, warm mid-grey with slight beige components that appears neither too cold nor too neutral and can be integrated into many design directions.

As a Spanish limestone, Marcenia Gris shows the typical properties of this rock group: good workability, a homogeneous fabric and a natural elegance that makes it equally usable in classic and contemporary projects. In contrast to strongly veined stones, Marcenia Gris lives from its homogeneity – it fits calmly into large surfaces and gives architectural elements a calm, grounding frame.

Marcenia Gris is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Flamed + brushed once

The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. Recommended for outdoor areas and for heavily used floor areas that need secure footing.

Care & fabrication

You should impregnate Marcenia Gris and care for it regularly with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner. Limestone reacts sensitively to acidic substances – take up lemon juice, vinegar or descalers immediately. For daily cleaning, a soft cloth, clear water and a suitable stone care product are sufficient.
