About Porfido Valcamonica

Porfido Valcamonica is one of the robust Italian porphyries that are convincing above all in external construction. The colouring moves between red-brown, violet and grey and thus reads as somewhat more differentiated than purely red porphyry types. On paths, stairs and façades this produces a materially strong, durable image that can work architecturally as well as in a landscape setting. At ROSSITTIS we carry Valcamonica for projects that rely on load-bearing capacity and long-term external quality.

The stone comes from Italy, from the Val Camonica region in Lombardy, in particular from the Bienno and Lovere area. Petrographically it is a rhyolite. In the market, however, porphyry typically runs within the robust hard rock logic, because it is precisely these technical properties that determine the application.

Finishes

Porfido Valcamonica is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Eco Antik

Porfido Valcamonica is easy to clean and maintain. Outdoors a sealer is usually not essential; for finer internal surfaces it can be worthwhile. Clean the stone with water or pH-neutral stone cleaners. What you should avoid above all are film-forming maintenance products and unsuitable aggressive chemicals on rough surfaces.
