About Rosa Porrino
Rosa Porrino is one of the classic European pink granites. The material shows a pink ground tone with small to medium dark phenocrysts and an overall surprisingly homogeneous effect. As a result the stone works very well on façades as well as on stairs, floor areas and window sills. Compared with more strongly patterned red granites, Rosa Porrino looks clearer, more ordered and more architectural. The stone comes from O Porriño in Galicia in north-west Spain. Petrographically it is a granite, more precisely a pink biotite granite. That explains the good workability and the typical combination of calm colour and dark grain. Compared with Rosa Beta, Rosa Porrino often looks somewhat clearer and more classically pink; compared with Multicolor Rot India, considerably less busy. For façades and larger continuous surfaces in particular, this calm is a real advantage.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. Satin-honed

Diamond-sawn

Honed C120
A matt appearance created by coarse honing with C120 grit — the level surface shows a more restrained colour intensity than polished and can carry visible honing marks. Sandblasted + satin-honed
The surface is roughened by sandblasting and then brushed — this creates a level surface with a softer feel than sandblasted alone. The colour appears restrained and the texture is slip-resistant. Flamed + brushed once
The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. The standard choice for outdoor areas, terraces and heavily used floor areas.
Care & fabrication
Rosa Porrino is easy to look after, but should be impregnated after installation, particularly on floor areas and façade details. The water absorption of 0.2–0.3 % is low and supports good everyday performance.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft cloth are enough. On lighter pink surfaces, dirt and limescale rings should not be allowed to dry on.
Avoid unnecessarily aggressive specialist cleaners and strongly abrasive pads. Oil, dyes and site-related soiling should be removed promptly so that the calm colouring is preserved.
Outdoors, good drainage, regular cleaning and a finish suited to the use are decisive. The frost testing supports exterior suitability but is no substitute for sound detailing.
